Audience + experience

The individuals you invite to your TEDx event are both your audience and your community — they’re the people you're sharing big ideas with, and those who will spread those ideas out into the world.

Creating a community out of your guests means bringing the TEDx experience to them, from the day they receive their invitation, to weeks after the event is over. In this section, we’ll show you how to best engage your audience, the “TEDx way”:

Invite attendees

You want individuals at your event who can contribute to the conversation in a meaningful way. You also want to invite them meaningfully.

Pre-event engagement

You should start building your TEDx community even before the event starts. Here, we’ll show you different ways to do just that.

Consider a virtual gathering

There are two key formats that help TEDx organizers virtually engage their communities.

Event experience

From TEDx event badges, to gift bags, to networking opportunities, there’s a lot to cover when it comes to creating a TED-like experience for your guests on the day of your event.

Post-event engagement

After the event, TEDx audience members may even more invigorated about being a part of your TEDx community. We’ll show you how to keep them engaged.

Let’s get started: Invite attendees
