Jaron makes a solid case that the negative impacts we're feeling from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and the link aren't coming from the tech itself — but from the attention/ad-driven business model of these platforms.

Hooked: How to Build Habit-Forming Products

This book lays out exactly how to build habit-forming software products, and how human psychology falls into those habits. It's worth noting that Mr. Eyal explicitly encourages his readers to build products that benefit users, rather than take advantage of them. Some habits can be very positive. Others, less so.

Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience

As I mention in the talk, one of the greatest benefits of creativity, in my opinion, is finding one's "flow." This book takes a scientific approach to understanding what's going on in the brain when people achieve a "flow-state," how different people do it and the positive impact it can have on a person's happiness.
