An economist trained at the Oxford and Cambridge University, he has served as Country Economist for Ukraine at the World Bank and been consultant to the International Labour Organisation, the Reserve Bank of India and the United Nations Development Program. Currently Professor at the Centre for Development Studies at Thiruvananthapuram, he has for over two decades intervened in the public debate on India's economy via his popular writings.

Vasundhara Das is a trained Hindustaani vocalist, songwriter, actress and environmentalist. She is the co-founder of a world-music band 'Arya' which features genres like Jazz, Latin, Pop and Rock. She and has been nominated for many Best Singer awards and is currently working on The Shah Hussain Project which draws inspiration from the 16th century Sufi poetry of Shah Hussain. Her music is a meeting of traditional and contemporary styles, based on the poetry and focused on live performance.
