What is Going Against the Grain?

For the second annual TEDxGettysburgCollege, we have developed a theme that we believe will encourage outside-the-box thinking within our community - "Going Against the Grain." What does it mean to "go against the grain?" What can new, and sometimes unconventional, approaches bring to the table? At Gettysburg, what would it mean for us to lead differently, learn differently, and live differently? How can we (as students, faculty, and staff) go against the grain, challenging ourselves and others on a regular basis? These are just a few of the questions our speakers hope to explore.

We hope that members of the audience will actively engage in this conversation before, during, and after the event to understand why we should all be "Going Against the Grain."
