TEDxKids@Yerevan event will take place on June 1st, on the International Children’s Day. The theme of this event is "Think Like a Kid. This event intends to illustrate the amazing thinking paths that kids take to solve their problems and problems in their communities. We want to show that adults can learn a lot form kids if they treat kids as capable and smart creatures.
Last year we had 23 kids participating in TEDxKids@Yerevan event and since then many things changed in their lives. 5 kids out of 23 had different disabilities and 2 were from extremely disadvantaged families. 300 Kids attended the event and 150 were from marzes and villages. As I have mentioned many things changed in kid’s life as a result of TEDxKids@Yerevan event
Gohar could fundraise to renovate her school. Margarita was able to attend school despite her disability. Beatrice could overcome her fear that kids would treat her as incapable. She said she feels more confident now. Lusine, Tigran, Vladimir and Ani have been selected and invited to TEDxYerevan to talk on the stage alongside with adults, After which Tigrans talk has been viewed for 2000 times which is more them views of many adult sneakers TEDx talks. Lusine got a suggestion for TEDxYerevan speaker Patrick Sarkissian, who is the founder and CEO of NY based SarkissianMason Company and One Armenia NGO in Armenia. Ani decided to pursue her dream and become architecture. Hayk is trying to fundraise to build a safe space for kids who do Parkur. Vladimir becomes popular in their school and now kids know he can talk and he is not only a shy and silent boy. All of them mentioned that their overcome their fear of public speaking. This list could continue on and on.

This year again we have children with disabilities who will talk about their life, discrimination and inclusive education. We also have kids who talk about happiness of being in the family versus orphanage or special institutions. There are kids who will talk about their dreams and also what adults can learn from kids.
300 kids from Yerevan and Armenian marzes will attend this event and 25 kids, who passed TEDx team orientation, training and auditions, will present their talks on the stage. They will share stories worth spreading with an emphasize on their ideas, issues, achievements and observations. This will be a mind and heart opening day of presentations, discussions, entertainment and art. The overall goal of this event is to raise the voices of kids to the world.
