Theme: The Space Between

TEDx­Can­berra is pleased to be host­ing its first TEDx­Can­ber­ra­Women event, in con­junc­tion with TEDx­Women, a TEDx event organ­ised by the Paley Cen­ter for Media that focuses on women and women’s issues.
TEDx­Women events are hosted around the live web­cast of TEDx­Women, and also fea­ture local speak­ers. TEDx­Can­ber­ra­Women is one of many TEDx events hap­pen­ing around the globe on the week­end of Novem­ber 30-December 2 2012 that will expand on the ideas brought up at TEDxWomen.

This year TEDx­Women is themed The Space Between. This is the sec­ond edi­tion of TEDx­Women - the first brought to the stage speak­ers such as Glo­ria Steinem, Dr. Oz and Jane Fonda and was viewed by 120 TEDx com­mu­ni­ties around the globe. The event was inspired by TED­Women, which took place in 2010.

What you can expect

TEDx­Can­ber­ra­Women is a one-day con­fer­ence to be held in Can­berra on Sun­day 2 Decem­ber. Atten­dees will watch The Ris­ing, the final ses­sion of TEDx­Women streamed live from Wash­ing­ton D.C. before hear­ing from our own local speak­ers who will share their ‘idea worth spread­ing’. The con­fer­ence will also offer plenty of oppor­tu­nity to con­nect with other atten­dees and engage in deep dis­cus­sion about women’s issues.

Reg­is­tra­tions are expected to open and the speaker line-up announced in late Octo­ber 2012. Fur­ther infor­ma­tion will be posted on this site.
