Dr. Christian I. Peñaloza

Professor, Managing Director/President

Dr. Christian Penaloza holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience Robotics from Osaka University and specializes in AI and neurotechnology. He is Managing Director/President of Mirai Innovation Research Institute and a researcher at Kyoto’s Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute. Recognized as “Innovator of the Year” by MIT Technology Review (2016), he received multiple Excellence Research Awards (2018, 2020) and was named “Distinguished Mexican Citizen” (2018) by the Mexican government. In 2021, he was selected by the New York Academy of Science for the Interstellar Initiative. Under his leadership, Mirai Innovation was chosen to represent Japan’s advanced health tech at ExpoOsaka 2025 highlighting the most advanced Japanese technologies in the field of health and wellness.

Dr. James Nuzzo, M.D.

Doctor

He is an expert in macroeconomic, trade and regulatory policy with 25 years as a senior governmental official, private consultant, media figure, university lecturer and angel investor. Like Lord David Owens, Nuzzo was originally trained as a neurologist. Following his chief residency at Harvard Medical School, he received the White House Fellowship and became G.H.W. Bush's Deputy Director of Policy, responsible for the Vice President's economic, trade, budgetary and domestic policy briefs. He later established the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's international finance expertise before founding The Colchester Group. He is an honors graduate of Harvard Law School and has taught at Harvard University for nearly 30 years. Nuzzo concentrates his philanthropic work in education and the arts, serving on boards including the Boston Ballet, Harvard Pieran Foundation, Celebrity Series of Boston, and American Friends of Eton College.
