In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Born in Texas, raised across five continents, I’ve moved 24 times and called 11 cities home. I grew up in Nigeria, spent formative years riding horses in Ethiopia, healed from injury in Beirut, found belonging in Vienna, watched over my father in Bolivia and taught in Korea and China. With every move, I’ve built a life from scratch, learning to adapt, connect, and let go. Home isn’t a place I can return to—it’s something I learned to make, wherever I was.
