On 20 September 2025, at NIROX Sculpture Park, in the Cradle of Humankind, TEDxJohannesburg Countdown brings together bold voices to accelerate climate action. Scientists, youth leaders, artists, and activists will share powerful ideas for a just energy transition and a more sustainable future. Grounded in South Africa and connected to the Global South, this event explores local solutions with global relevance, driving momentum toward the G20 climate meetings and COP30.
We’re proud to be selected by TED as a Global Anchor for the 2025 TED Countdown Summit. As one of just 18 TEDx events chosen globally, we carry the energy of the Summit—held in Nairobi in June—into our own platform. TEDxJohannesburg Countdown is more than a stage.
