Theme: Beyond the Textbook: Redefining What It Means to Learn

This event occurred on
June 28, 2025
11:00am - 1:30pm CDT
(UTC -5hrs)
NASHVILLE, Tennessee
United States

This talk delves into the disconnect between school and the actual skills that truly shape our lives, such as emotional intelligence, problem-solving, and teamwork. Peer tutoring, for example, isn’t necessarily about learning; it's about learning how to collaborate, how to be adaptable, and how to navigate conflict. The talk challenges the audience to think about what learning truly is, to look at how we learn outside the classroom, what we need to be learning, and how we can bridge gaps in our current system to make learning valuable.
