Theme: Renaissance

The fifth chapter of TEDxGIM, held on February 2nd, 2025, was an evening that truly embodied the essence of "Renaissance"—a celebration of revival, transformation, and the boundless potential of human creativity. The event featured four distinguished speakers and two captivating performances, each offering a unique take on reinvention and self-discovery. From compelling narratives of personal evolution to artistic expressions that transcended time, TEDxGIM Chapter 5 brought together a diverse spectrum of thought leaders, innovators, and artists. Their powerful words and performances illuminated the spirit of reinvention, inspiring attendees to look at the world through a fresh lens and seek transformation in their own lives.
As thought-provoking discussions unfolded and mesmerizing performances graced the stage, the atmosphere was charged with curiosity, introspection, and the excitement of new possibilities. A celebrated poet, he has authored 40 collections in English, Odia, Hindi, and other languages, using the power of words to connect hearts and cultures.Today, as the founder-director of the Millennial Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, Amarendra Khatua continues to inspire with his visionary leadership, shaping the future with wisdom drawn from a lifetime of unparalleled achievements.

Dr. Anunaya Chaubey

Dr Anunaya Chaubey is an academic who has studied English literature. He teaches courses on English literature, history, art and its practice and creative and critical thinking, among many others. He is a university administrator and builder of institutions in India and abroad. Currently, he serves as the Provost of Anant National University, focusing on building a forward-thinking design university rooted in community, liberal arts and technology aimed at solving global problems. Dr Chaubey is also an artist, musician, sportsman, filmmaker, animator, cook and gardener.

Gautam Vaishnav

Rock balancing artist

Gautam Vaishnav, a charismatic nature enthusiast and one of India’s most skilled professional Rock Balancers. Gautam has perfected the art of balancing rocks, showcasing patience, precision, and creativity like never before. Through his unique craft, he transforms the simplest elements of nature into captivating displays of harmony, leaving audiences mesmerized by his ability to create balance where none seems possible. A passionate mentor, Gautam has shared his expertise with over 10,000 individuals, teaching them how to connect with nature and discover mindfulness through the meditative art of Rock Balancing. His journey is a testament to the beauty of finding equilibrium both within and outside ourselves.

She has also been honoured with the Icon of the Year Award and Pride of Goa Award, among many others. In addition to her musical prowess, Hema is a passionate social activist, advocating for the Girl Child, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and anti-tobacco initiatives. Sathya Gowthaman

Mrs. Sathya Gowthaman is a contemporary realist artist, renowned for her unique ability to recreate India's lost artistic treasures. With a deep connection to her roots, she brings to life art that was once taken from India and is now housed across collections around the world. Drawing inspiration from the grandeur of Chola period sculptures, her work offers a striking visual experience that not only showcases her technical mastery but also reconnects us with a forgotten part of our heritage.

Shabari Ganiga

Speed painter

Shabari Ganiga, hailing from Mangalore, Karnataka, is renowned as the state's first female speed painter. Her artistic journey began at the tender age of five, and she has since participated in over 500 painting competitions, securing more than 350 prizes. Her exceptional contributions to art have earned her prestigious accolades, including the 'Karnataka Kalashree' award.
