Meet Anghelina Severin! Anghelina is a Youth Rights Activist who has been able to speak up in multiple occasions and share her opinions on difficult issues, in aim to raise awareness and protect young people as much as possible. She has had the opportunity to discuss different topics with the Minister of Education in Moldova as well as working with organisations such as The State of Youth and Amnesty International. As a reflection of her hard work and determination she was in the top 10 nominees for the Children’s Peace Prize. Dunja is an inspired speaker who will deliver the speech “Connected yet disconnected: paradox of hyperconnectivity through social media versus isolation in real life” by gathering what she sees and experiences in her life and comparing it to what it may seem like through a screen. She is a motivated speaker who is not afraid to share her opinions with others, she is a tolerant person who does not discriminate someone else due to their own views and is constantly trying to open her circle with people who may seem the opposite to her. Meet Emiliya Romanova! Emiliya is an outgoing person keen to be part of many different events and socialise with different profiles of people. Her love for reading and visiting museums reflect her creative side as well as the fact that she enjoys less ordinary activities such as going to the opera. Emma is the school’s Academic Scholar, with a bright and driven mindset that helps her achieve challenges that may arise to her. For example, Emma does not let the distance from school to her house impede her from coming everyday and working her hardest, instead she uses it as motivation and to lead an example that if you prioritise the right things, you can carve your own successful path. We can all agree that Emma may have experienced a tough change, transitioning from the Spanish system school to an international IB school. Meet Eva Sanchez Gonzalez! Eva appreciates the small details, simply spending time with her loved ones, whether that is going on a walk or catching up will brighten her day. Eva understands that the best connections grow stronger when you can do anything and everything with them, making her a compassionate person, always willing to cheer someone up. Eva is also driven, although she does not consider herself a great runner, she peruses it as it makes her feel good without caring about how fast or how well she does it. We could all learn a thing or two from Eva, as she is also very curious. Meet Hugo Samu! Hugo is The Global College’s well deserved Head Student. Hugo is able to take the raw reality and see a positive side to anything, making him resilient in many areas of life. These include sports such as basketball and keeping a constant habit of reading to increase his knowledge and become a more productive person. Hugo considers himself quite independent and has his own personal goal of perusing an aerospace engineering which follows his love for science and understanding what is happening beyond our planet. Meet João Pedro Miqueloto Vianna! João will be delivering the speech “The impact of Youth in Politics: choosing our future representatives” due to his passion for Politics, Philosophy and Economics. João is extremely ambitious and curious; he loves to learn new critical skills such as investing and enjoys setting a routine with involves going to the gym. His family has built a strong influence on him allowing him to explore different roots such as music and arts, even though they do not directly carve the path he wants to peruse, this shows how openminded Joao is which may be translated through his speech and through his goals of forming a family in which he can discuss a range of viewpoints and ideas.Lana Jiang

Meet Lana Kiamova Jiang! Lana is a student from Kyrgyzstan, has figured out something most of us dream about: how to study less and still come out on top. As a top achiever in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, she’s mastered the art of working smarter, not harder. This sparked her curiosity about productivity and why we often work more but feel like we’re achieving less. In her talk, Lana dives into “The Productivity Paradox: Why we are Working More but Achieving Less” breaking down what’s really going wrong in how we measure success and efficiency. Meet Lorenzo Auricchio! Lorenzo is a very sociable person, who doesn’t hesitate to start a conversation. His love for talking will be revealed when he delivers the speech “Debate, Rhetoric and Public Speaking: how mastering rhetoric and debate can improve communication and leadership skills”. His speech is well crafted to resemble his character as Lorenzo has previous experience in different debate competitions such as CICAE where he won best speaker and SYMUN where he won Best Delegate, therefore we can be confident to follow his advice. Apart from being curious and being well informed on current news, Lorenzo sticks to various commitments such as swimming, in which he has competed for many years making him build up drive and exigency to preform at a high level.Lucía Infantes Garay

Meet Lucía Infantes Garay! Lucía is close to a professional when it comes to public speaking, in fact, she has been enrolled in many events such as MUN and debate since she was in Year 3. Lucía is resilient and brave, she used to be a professional swimmer but set her priorities on her studies without giving much importance to what others would say, instead she has become a person with great initiative and has perused musical theatre as well as creating different events such as this TEDx event. Meet Maia Jenkins! Maia is a driven speaker with experience in different hobbies such as music; she plays the violin, piano and apart from using her voice for speeches she also sings! One of her goals is to start a choir at school. Maia is an adventurous and caring person who also loves to travel, she has a second heart for animals, as she has even enrolled in several volunteering schemes such as busking in Bali for dogs.
