In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Prof. Dr. Amir Roushdy is a leading expert in Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering and an Associate Professor in the Mechatronics Engineering Department at the German University in Cairo (GUC). With over 100 publications in national and international journals and conferences, and 400+ research projects, he heads the ARAtronics Research Center at GUC and ARAtech Innovations for Industrial Solutions. His work drives research and development in AI and robotics, enhancing human creativity and bridging the gap between academia and industry. Dr. Amir is dedicated to empowering future engineers.

Haitham Gheita

Sports mental coach

With a Master's Degree in Sport Psychology from Tech University, Spain, and certifications as a Sports Psychology Coach from Oxbridge University, UK and the Spencer Institute, USA, as well as a Certified Life Coach from the International Association of Professional Life Coaches, USA, Haitham is the founder of HG Mental Academy. Having accumulated over 4000 hours of one-to-one mental coaching sessions with more than 450 athletes across 28 diverse sports worldwide, including Egypt, the USA, Canada, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, he has extensive experience. Haitham’s work includes preparing champions for the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympics, and working with various Egyptian national teams. Haitham is also the owner and creator of the Champion’s Mental Kit, the first mental kit for athletes, parents, and coaches in the Middle East, and bring a unique perspective as a former professional football player who captained their team for 12 years and played for the Egyptian national team.

Manal Olama

CEO of Egyptian Clothing Bank

Manal Olama is a dedicated leader and philanthropist with a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering and Systems from Cairo University. She is the CEO of the Egyptian Clothing Bank, where she manages and develops a state-of-the-art zero-waste entity that fulfills 10 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Manal is also the Founder and General Secretary of the Egyptian Food Bank, and the Founder and CEO of Almah, a sustainable fashion brand. Her commitment to social welfare is evident in her belief that "clothes change lives" and her passion for serving the underprivileged. Manal is a member of the Sustainable Fashion Alliance and the Circular Business Forum, and was a member of the National Basketball and Rowing teams in the 80s.

Mohamed Ehab

Mohamed Ehab is a prominent entrepreneur in the Egyptian ecosystem, currently with Entlaq Holding. He has expertise in E-mobility, Robotics, and Ride-sharing, having previously been the head of operations at Rabbit Mobility as part of the founding team. He also gained engineering and management experience at Radii Robotics in the USA and led a manufacturing e-mobility entity that competed in top international competitions. He holds a Mechatronics Engineering Bachelor’s degree from the German University in Cairo and a Bachelor’s thesis in Medical Robotics from the University of Twente in the Netherlands. Additionally, he is a seasoned professional squash player, having joined the National team and representing Egypt internationally for over 15 years.

Sherif El Sayed

Sherif Elsayed. Sherif is an expressive artist who graduated from the faculty of Applied sciences and arts in the GUC. His area of expertise is graphic design with a focus typography and branding. Sherif’s known for his constant self reflections, expression and analytical skills. He observes, analyzes then concludes. Our speaker will discuss the impact of first and second language on emotions. He’ll also reveal it’s significant effect on our society nowadays.

Sohaila Omar

Archeology researcher

Sohaila is a researcher in ancient Egyptian archaeology, holding a Bachelor's degree in Archaeology from Misr University for Science and Technology in 2018. Her first work, the book "A Tour in the Egyptian Museum," was published in 2019. She then earned a diploma in Egyptian antiquities from the Faculty of Archaeology at Cairo University in 2021 and is currently a Master's researcher. She has written several articles for the Castle Arabic Journal, Cairo News, and Akhbar Al-Ghad, and has published 6 internationally peer-reviewed research papers that were presented at conferences affiliated with the Italian Cultural Center in partnership with the Egypt Future Foundation and ICOM. Her second book, "Ra An Kemet," was published in 2023 and participated in the International Book Fair in 2023 and 2024. She also presents archaeological content on her Facebook page "Matigy Nehky" (Let's Talk) and the program "Sir Giddy" (My Grandfather's Secret) on the Radio Cast platform.

Yassin Mahgoub

Yassin elmahgoub is Medical graduate from New Giza University with love for everything medical and non-medical related.
