Vithika Yadav is a social entrepreneur and activist with over 20 years of experience in anti-slavery, sexual rights, and gender rights. She is passionate about empowering young people and creating positive change.
She is currently the Managing Director at Designathon Works, an organization working in over 50 countries globally to empower children become changemakers. She also serves as a Child Protection Expert in South Asia under the Purple Foundation.
Vithika is the co-founder of the global award winning initiative, Love Matters, India's first digital initiative providing open, honest, and judgment-free information on sexual and reproductive health and rights. She also founded TeenBook, India’s first comprehensive life skills resource hub for adolescents, parents, and educators. In addition, she chairs the Global Advisory Board on Sexual Health and Well-being.
Her work has earned global recognition. In 2016, she was named one of the Top 120 under 40 Family Planning Leaders by the Bill & Melinda Gates Institute. She has received multiple honors, including the Atlas Corps Fellowship, and in 2012 was recognized as a Top 99 under 33 young foreign policy leader by Diplomatic Courier and Young Professionals in Foreign Policy.
Vithika has worked with leading organizations like the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, BBC World Service Trust, Free the Slaves, and MTV EXIT. Her impact extends to media, with her work on MTV India’s series ‘TRAFFIC’ winning Best Public Service Program at the Indian Television Academy Awards in 2014.
She was also featured in the award-winning documentary #FemalePleasure.
Her initiative, Love Matters, has received global accolades, including the World Association for Sexual Health’s Award for Excellence & Innovation in Sexuality Education and a Freedom of Expression Award for Digital Activism.
