In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Christopher B.Beselin

Christopher B. Beselin is a Swedish company builder & investor that has been living in Vietnam since early 2012. He came to Vietnam in order to start the country’s largest ecommerce marketplace, Lazada.vn. He was the CEO & Co-founder of the business for the first three years, in parallel to being CEO for Lazada Malaysia. The group was later sold to the global ecommerce group, Ali Baba. Subsequently, Christopher B. Beselin moved on to build up a range of additional businesses from scratch within tech, ecommerce and investments, all in Southeast Asia. Apart from Lazada, he has founded and sold/IPO:d four companies – Intrepid, Fram PLC, Fram IT Development and Pangara.

Hannah Mulholland Cooke

I am Hannah, a Year 11 student from BIS HCMC. I was born and raised in London and moved to Vietnam 2 years ago where I have adapted to life in Ho Chi Minh City, a city vastly different to where I am from. Currently I am taking History and Geography for IGCSE and I am fascinated with the way the world works and the nature of human beings - ‘The Human Condition’.

Henry is a curious and intellectually driven Year 12 student at the British International School, where his international education journey began in Year 7. Over the years, he has developed a keen interest in global affairs, identity, and the nuanced dynamics of cultural belonging. A passionate public speaker and an intellect in politics, Henry thrives in environments where ideas are exchanged, challenged, and reshaped.

Leslie Williams

Dr Leslie Williams is a dedicated educator with a deep commitment to inclusion and belonging. She spent 20 years as an English literature teacher and high school principal, where she saw firsthand the power of connection in creating inclusive learning environments. Her lasting relationships with former students, educators, and parents remind her that true education goes beyond the curriculum. Now working with Nord Anglia Education, Dr Williams collaborates with students and teachers worldwide on leadership, sustainability, child rights, and inclusion. She has led professional development for hundreds of educators and delivered keynotes on Black History Month and the Power of Allyship.

SiYun Lee

I’m Siyun, an individual passionate about the sciences, and an avid reader of horror. Since the beginning of my obsession with the genre, I have read and become obsessed with many different subgenres of horror, from supernatural to slasher to cosmic to evolutionary horror.

Tom Peel

Tom Peel is a widely loved English teacher, a popular BIS speaker (who brought you such talks as Brainrot-Maxxing: How we went from Shakespeare to Skibidi Toilet and Why Everything is Your Fault) and self-proclaimed Jungian fanboy on an exploration of archetypes. With his idiosyncratic mix of wit and wisdom, we will delve into draconic myths from across the world to see if they reveal clues to us about how culture shapes our lives.

Vinh (James) Nguyen

Nguyen Thanh Vinh, known as James, is a passionate advocate for accessibility and personal development, particularly for individuals with visual impairments. His own journey with vision loss has fueled his commitment to creating positive change and empowering others. As the Founder and Director of ScriVi, he leads a programme that provides professional and assistive technology training for blind and visually impaired individuals, helping them build successful careers. He has also played a key role in improving accessibility in academia, leading initiatives at the University of Exeter to enhance policies, staff training, and student resources.
