In the spirit of ideas change everything, TEDxTarsusAmericanCollege is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TEDx experience on Tarsus American College Campus. Our TEDxTarsusAmericanCollege event is dedicated to the theme of "Empower, Inspire, Transform".

You will hear from experts in a variety of fields, including business, technology, and science, who embraced empowerment, inspiration, and transformation to create significant impacts. How they have empowered themselves and others, found inspiration in unexpected places, and transformed challenges into opportunities for growth. They will explore how these elements can drive meaningful change and help us all to make a real difference.

Alpartun Günhan

Student

Alpartun Günhan was born in Konya in 2005. Since childhood, Alpartun has had a strong interest in technology and computers. After completing his middle school education, he began boarding school at Tarsus American College with a scholarship. After successfully completing the International Baccalaureate Program (IBDP) at TAC, Alpartun got accepted with a full scholarship to New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD). Leaving his family to start boarding school at the age of 14 and being immersed in different cultures on his own was a significant experience for him. In 11th grade, as a member of the student council, he took an active role in the organization of many school events, and as the organizer of TEDxTarsusAmericanCollege, he led a large team to organize a TEDx conference. Alpartun, who has been trying to discover himself throughout his high school life, has developed a great interest in e-commerce and economics in the last two years.

Fatma Yiğitoğlu

Social Volunteering Leader, CAS Coordinator, IB Workshop Leader

Fatma Yiğitoğlu, a Boğaziçi University graduate, studied abroad at Verona University in Italy and Chemnitz University in Germany during her third year. She received a Fulbright Scholarship for graduate studies at Syracuse University in the USA and completed a Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Manchester in 2023. With 14 years of teaching experience, she is a teacher trainer for the International Baccalaureate (IB) programs, specifically the Middle Years Program (MYP) and the Diploma Program (DP). She has led IB workshops worldwide, her international experiences shaping her educational philosophy. She advocates for integrating service learning into school curriculums, believing it transforms learners’ social and emotional growth

Hülya Cesur

BUMED President, Publicis Groupe CGO and Board Member

Hülya Cesur, who completed her undergraduate and Executive MBA education at Boğaziçi University, also holds minors in Fine Arts and Film Studies. Her hobbies have always progressed parallel to her academic life; at the age of 17, she held her first solo painting exhibition and became the fourth in the world in salsa dancing. During her career, she has worked closely with more than 100 local and international brands while serving as the CEO of a creative agency. An Effie-award-winning brand strategist, Hülya Cesur has also provided business development consultancy to CEOs and entrepreneurs in the field of branding. Today, in addition to continuing her professional life as the Chief Growth Officer (CGO) at Publicis Groupe, the world’s most valuable advertising network, Hülya Cesur serves on various boards of directors and is also the President of the Boğaziçi University Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Ozan Sihay

Director, Videographer, Content Creator, Lecturer in Acun Medya Akademi

If you're interested in video, photography, or technology, you've likely come across Ozan Sihay in some way. Born in 1982, Ozan Sihay has worked as a director and cinematographer on many projects throughout his career after developing his skills in the field of graphic design at Sihay Reklamevi. Ozan Sihay, who has been involved in numerous local and international projects and won awards at many festivals with his short films, took on directing roles in films such as James Bond Skyfall and Charlie’s Angels. Additionally, he has worked on many commercials, promotional films, music videos, and documentary projects in his professional career. Loving to share the knowledge he has acquired, Ozan Sihay prepares training plans on digital content production and organizes training sessions in various cities across Turkey. For approximately four years, he has been among the instructors at Nişantaşı University's Acun Medya Academy, continuing to teach digital content production.

Sabanur Kıraç

Entrepreneur, Founder of Serum Extra and Anne Etkinlikleri

Sabanur Kıraç, an alumna of the Tarsus American College, has made a remarkable impact in the business world. With experience ranging from journalism to marketing management, she left an indelible mark. In 2017, she launched "Anne Etkinlikleri" organizing events for mothers and children, and now she's the owner of Serum Extra, Turkey's first skincare brand using microcapsule technology.
