Dr. Connie Lim is an expert in Sarawak’s cultural heritage, with a deep focus on the Sape—a traditional boat lute that symbolizes the region's identity. Through her work, Dr. Lim has explored how global music festivals have propelled the Sape's evolution, from adding pickups for amplification to expanding its range with extra strings. Her talks highlight the impact of these changes, which have opened new musical possibilities and inspired many to connect with their cultural roots. Dr. Lim’s insights showcase how the Sape continues to unite people with Sarawak’s rich cultural identity in modern contexts.

Dr. Michael Oon

Science & Traditional Feng Shui
Dr. Michael Oon is a unique blend of science and Chinese traditional practices, seamlessly bridging his early career as a forensic scientist with his expertise in traditional Feng Shui. With a PhD in Biochemistry and two decades of experience at New Scotland Yard, Dr. Oon excelled in forensic science by applying empirical observation and evidence-based methods. His transition to traditional Feng Shui was guided by a search for deeper understanding, leading him to train under a 14th-generation master who practises traditional Feng Shui. Dr. Oon now applies the scientific rigor from his forensic background to traditional Feng Shui, revealing its empirical roots and offering fresh insights into its modern applications.

Ezra Tekola is a dedicated Sape musician and instrument maker, committed to preserving and sharing the indigenous heritage of Borneo. Drawing inspiration from her time in Malaysia, Jasmine co-founded Cloop in Singapore, a platform that promotes sustainable shopping alternatives such as fashion swapping and textile recycling to reduce waste and overconsumption. With a passion for innovative, community-driven solutions, Jasmine is on a mission to inspire individuals and businesses to rethink their relationship with fashion, embracing more sustainable, circular practices for a healthier planet.

Teo Yuang Teck, widely recognized as Teacher Teo, is a passionate advocate for STEM education with a background in Mechatronics engineering and extensive experience as an IT business analyst. Currently, he serves as an IT consultant, STEM coach, and entrepreneur. Teo received the Taylor’s RISE Educator Award for transforming the life of a student with encephalitis. As the chapter ambassador for Technovation Girls Malaysia and local lead for the NASA Space Apps Challenge, he actively promotes coding and STEM initiatives in Sarawak and beyond, empowering students to achieve recognition on both national and international platforms.
