Theme: Navigating Narratives

TEDx Kathmandu University is an independently organized, non-profit event that brings together innovative thinkers to share "ideas worth spreading." Scheduled for November 21, 2025, at the CV Raman Auditorium in Dhulikhel, Nepal, this year's theme, "Navigating Narratives," invites attendees to critically examine and reshape the stories that define our identities and societies.

Co-founder/Director of ‘Khalti Digital Wallet’

Mr. Amit Agrawal is the Co-founder/Director of ‘Khalti Digital Wallet’, one of the leading Digital wallets in Nepal also, the Co-founder of Sparrow SMS, the leading SMS provider of Sparrow SMS in Nepal, Mr. Agrawal leads the GBG (Google Business Group) community in Nepal as a Manager, is the winner of the Entrepreneur ICT Award 2019 and also has bragged the Outstanding Youth Professional Award by Nepal Engineers Association. He has worked as an Executive Member of the Federation of Computer Association of Nepal as well and was also selected for the prestigious IVLP (International Visitor Leadership Program] by US Embassy Nepal. He is also a Board member at Fintech Alliance Nepal. Actively involved in building the IT ecosystem in Nepal as a Mentor, Facilitator, Speaker, and Organizer, he has mentored several startups and aspiring entrepreneurs and is a role model for many individuals. He firmly believes there are ample opportunities in Nepal and we can build things here itself.

Mayor of Dhulikhel Municipality

Ashok Kumar Byanju is the Mayor of Dhulikhel Municipality, a role in which he has focused on sustainable urban development and enhancing public services in Dhulikhel, a historic and rapidly growing town in Nepal. Byanju has actively promoted Dhulikhel as a hub for tourism, education, and healthcare, while also working to improve local infrastructure. He is known for his leadership in implementing innovative municipal projects, particularly in waste management and environmental sustainability. Additionally, Byanju has played a significant role in advocating for local governance and decentralization, often representing Nepali municipalities in international forums. His work emphasizes the importance of strengthening local governments to foster development at the grassroots level.

Dr. Bhagawan Koirala

Cardiothoracic Surgeon

Dr. Bhagawan Koirala is a renowned cardiothoracic surgeon and a pioneer in heart health in Nepal. With a distinguished career dedicated to making high-quality healthcare accessible to all, he has led life-saving surgeries and established vital healthcare programs that have significantly improved cardiac care in Nepal. Known for his leadership at institutions such as the Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre, Dr. Koirala has become one of the most respected figures in Nepal’s medical field. His commitment to public health and service continues to inspire future generations of doctors, making him a driving force in transforming Nepal's healthcare landscape.

Dr. Ghana Shyam Gurung

Country Representative for WWF Nepal

Dr. Ghana Shyam Gurung is the Country Representative for WWF Nepal and a leading conservationist with over 20 years of experience in wildlife preservation, ecotourism, and policy advocacy. Holding a Ph.D. in Natural Science from the University of Zurich, he has been instrumental in advancing community-led conservation and species protection in Nepal. Under his leadership, WWF Nepal has achieved remarkable milestones, including increasing tiger and rhino populations, establishing protected landscapes, and fostering transboundary conservation with China and India. Dr. Minendra Rijal

Dr. Minendra Rijal is a prominent economist, politician, and academic in Nepal. As Minister for Defense, he strengthened national security and advocated for reducing Nepal's reliance on remittances and imports, viewing Nepal's proximity to India and China as an opportunity for economic growth through energy exports and tourism. He has taught at institutions like Tribhuvan University and New York University and co-founded Apex College. A medical doctor with an MBBS degree from Tribhuvan University, she earned the prestigious TU Gold Medal for academic excellence. She is also the founder of Sahayatri, an initiative dedicated to empowering communities through healthcare, education, and sustainable development. Known for her dynamic public speaking skills, Dr. Sareesha is a sought-after emcee who brings energy and professionalism to every event she hosts. She holds a world record for her outstanding achievements and is currently pursuing the Safety, Quality, Informatics, and Leadership (SQIL) program at Harvard Medical School (2024), focusing on advancing healthcare innovation and quality management. With her diverse accomplishments and unwavering dedication, she continues to inspire and create a meaningful impact both in Nepal and on global platforms.
