In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Frida Bautista Pazzi

My name is Frida Bautista Pazzi, since I was little I have been interested in debate and literature topics, which has led me to participate in competitions and academic events. In 2017 and 2020, I was the first place winner of the National Children’s and Youth Literature Contest organized by Editorial Norma. Currently at my school, I support the organization of school events such as MUN (Model United Nations) and on December 2024, in its 5th edition, I obtained the “Best Delegate” award from my Committee. I actively participate in Public Speaking classes and recently had the opportunity to share my perspective and ideas at a TEDx event. These experiences have reinforced my interest in communicating my thoughts, motivating me to always continue learning and growing.

Gabriela Barragán Rivera

My name is Gabriela Barragán Rivera, I´m 16 years old and soon to be 17. I'm a sophomore at Colegio Las Hayas. To this day, I have participated at 10 MUNs and currently I am sub-secretary general of the 6th edition of Hayas Mun. Public speaking is something I really enjoy doing. It makes me feel heard in a world where teens my age are often ignored or not taken into account. For me it is really important to be heard so that maybe my experiences can help someone else. Something my parents and family really taught me is to help others, and that is something I really like doing. When I can, I help a friend, a classmate or a person I don´t know as much because you never know when you will need help. That is why I decided to take part in TEDx, because when I found out what the topic was about, I knew that I wanted my story to be heard and hopefully connect and in a sort of way, help others if they have gone through what I have gone through.

Milena Rubio Núñez

My name is Milena, I am sixteen years old and I study at colegio Las Hayas in Xalapa, Mexico. I am really keen on dancing, I have been doing ballet almost all my life, giving a presentation at least once a year, and I have participated in national contests. I have also practiced contemporary dance and HipHop for a couple of years now, which I love too. I have been playing the transverse flute for nine years, and in that time I have won second place in a national competition, played with my local symphonic band and given lots of concerts, so I’m pretty used to being on a stage. I also climb boulders when I have a chance, and I used to give climbing lessons to little kids. I love reading, my favorite genre is murder mystery, and I have read pretty much every Agatha Christie novel that has crossed my way, though I also enjoy dystopian stories and romance books. I do a lot of handcrafts and I am getting better with watercolors.

Raquel Colomar Cedeño

Born in Spain and raised in Mexico as the middle child of a family of 7. Currently 18 years old and interested in all kinds of sciences and the human body. Likes reading books about anything and listening to music.

Valeria Dorantes Parra

I’m Valaria Dorantes Parra. I was born in Mexico in 2009, I am very passionate about the world of reading, arts and sports. While most of the time I spend my day dreaming, the rest is divided between studies, family and school. I Participate in multiple drawing competitions. And I found a great love for public speaking. Throughout my life I have learned the importance of moving forward regardless of the circumstances of everyday life and never giving up. When I have the opportunity I dedicate myself to looking for new hobbies and goals to achieve, but never stay still.

Zoë Kazemier Márquez

My name is Zoë Kazemier Márquez, I'm 16 years old and I'm currently a sophomore at Colegio Las Hayas. Ever since I was little, I've been keen on various activities which have made me the person I am today, such as playing saxophone which encouraged me to always try my best. Later on in my life I discovered the amusement of reading and writing stories, I've participated in writing contests and I currently have a short story published in a book. I really enjoy sharing my thoughts with other people, that's why I have joined MUN and also managed to become co-secretary in the seventh edition of Hayas MUN. I've noticed that public speaking is something that helps me with my confidence, so I try to do it as often as I can. It's actually the reason I joined TEDX, so I hope you enjoy my talk as much as I enjoyed giving it.
