In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Agnes Øye

Neste Leder Operasjon Dagsverk
Agnes Øye has been passionate about young people’s right to education and self-determination in their own lives for many years. She strongly believes in the importance of international cooperation and solidarity. At 19, she is now a dedicated deputy leader in Operation Day’s Work, a Norwegian solidarity campaign that is by, with, and for youth. Agnes believes that all young people should have the opportunity to shape their own future through education and actively participate in society, regardless of where they are in the world. She works hard to ensure that young people everywhere have access to the resources they need to realize their goals and dreams, and she is committed to promoting understanding and cooperation across borders.

Alex Jørgensen

Alex Benjamin Jørgensen is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion, currently serving as the Leader for Diversity and Inclusion at Oslo Pride. With a bachelor’s degree in media and journalism, a master’s degree in political sciences and governments, and over a decade of experience as a journalist and human rights activist, Alex brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his work. Despite facing significant challenges Alex remained resolute in his dedication to advocating for the LGBTQ+ community, combating corruption, and opposing terrorism.

Dr. Ishita Barua

Co-Founder & Chief Medical Officer at Livv Health
Ishita Barua is a medical doctor with a PhD in artificial intelligence (AI) in medicine from the University of Oslo. She is Co-founder and Chief Medical Officer at Livv Health, a medtech startup. Ishita Barua is an award-winning AI researcher and was a Fulbright scholar at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and she has previously served as the Lead AI in Healthcare at Deloitte. Recognized as one of Norway’s 50 most influential women in technology, Ishita Barua has also made her mark as an author, publishing her book “Artificial Intelligence Saves Lives” last year in Norway.

Dr. Reetika Joshi

Researcher at the Institute of Theoretical Astrophysics
Reetika is a researcher at the Institute of Theoretical Astrophysics, University of Oslo (UiO), specializing in solar Physics. She earned her Ph.D. in Physics from Kumaun University, Nainital, India, and was awarded the best Ph.D. thesis prize by the International Astronomical Union in 2021. During her Ph.D., she also received the Raman-Charpak fellowship from the Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research and the visiting scholar fellowship from SCOSTEP/International Council for Science (ICSU).

Isabelle Ringnes

Founder of TENK
Isabelle is a sought-after public speaker and a known profile on technology in the Norwegian news and TV Media. Her expertise is diversity and she is the co-founder Equality Check, a technology product that measures diversity and inclusion and supports organizations with evidence-based solutions for gaps identified. In 2015 she founded TENK: a Technology Network for Women that yearly inspires hundreds of girls to explore the endless opportunities in technology. Together with SOS Child Villages, she has initiated the project Digital Villages which works to give underprivileged children access to technology.

Jarle Hildrum

Jarle Hildrum is a director at Deloitte, where he oversees analytics and AI in the Human Resources sector. He earned his PhD in innovation management from the University of Oslo and has conducted research at Stanford and Telenor. Klas Pettersen

CEO of NORA.ai
Klas Pettersen is the CEO of NORA – Norwegian Artificial Intelligence Research Consortium, a collaboration between eight Norwegian universities, five university colleges, and five research institutes within artificial intelligence. NORA’s mission is to strengthen Norwegian research, education, and innovation within AI. Klas received his Master of Science (siv. ing.) degree in Physics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, where he studied quantum mechanics and the theory of relativity. He then turned to neuroscience and received a PhD in computational neuroscience in 2007 from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). After his PhD Klas worked as a postdoctoral researcher and research scientist within computational neuroscience at NMBU, at the University of Oslo, and as a Visiting Scholar at the University of California San Diego. Since NORA.ai was established in 2019 he has been the CEO of NORA.
