In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Kunal Kapoor

The Executive Sous Chef at Leela Kempinski, Gurgaon, Kunal Kapoor became a household name at his insanely successful stint in MasterChef India. His wide range of responsibilities also includes being the Chef de Cuisine of “DIYA,” the specialty Indian restaurant, which has won the best Indian restaurant in Gurgaon and rated amongst the top 5 Indian restaurants in Delhi NCR. He has received several other awards and honors including Jiggs Kalra anointing him as the “Next Big Guy in Kebabs & Curries”. Coming from a family where men were 'Sunday Cooks' and took over the kitchen to give the women a break, Kunal says with conviction that cooking runs in his blood! He loves to experiment with his food by applying his knowledge about various ingredients and methods of cooking, which he picks with great diligence.

Babar Afzal

A native of the beautiful valley in North India, Babar Afzal has taken up the onus of demystifying Kashmir for the world. A motor enthusiast, he loves riding his Royal Enfield in the valley, and is also a part of The J&K Motor Sports Association. He has curated and organized a TEDx event, and is also the curator of International SilkRoute Megashows. He is also the founder of KashmirINK, and brand owner of Kahwa and Kashir Lounge, through which he promotes Kashmiri cuisine.

Ankur Lal

Ankur Lal, a distinguished alumnus of IIT Delhi, has more than 13 years of experience in the IT and Telecom solutions marketspace. He is the CEO of Infozech Software, a leading software organization providing billing solutions to major telecom players in various countries. A frequent speaker at global conferences and a prolific writer in various business publications, Ankur is also an enthusiastic patron of Toastmasters club. Occasionally, he also loves to take out time and guide young budding entrepreneurs at The Indus Entrepreneurs (TIE).

Roop Chand

Roop chand is a Gurgaon based veteran artist born in village Dundahera in Gurgaon district in 1936. After his initial education in his native place, he went to Bombay to study art. In addition to being a full time faculty at GCW and Home Science College in Chandigarh, he has also had exhibitions in Panjab University. Roop Chand left Chandigarh and moved on to a long voyage in West Asia, Middle East an Europe. After staying in Denmark and exploring the Scandinavian world, he came back and established the School of Creative Art in Jawaharlal Nehru University. He now lives and operates from the National Art Centre in Gurgaon, which was founded by him in 1973.

Vipin Sharma

Vipin Sharma is a versatile theatre personality from New Delhi. He is a graduate of National School of Drama and the Canadian Film Centre, Toronto, Canada. His first major role, as Nandakishore Avasti in Taare Zameen Par, established him as an actor in Bollywood. His work in Yeh Saali Zindagi,Ghajini and Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster broke his stereotypical image of a stern father from TZP and has established him as a new entrant in Bollywood to watch for. He recently worked with Anurag Kashyap in Gangs of Wasseypur (as an actor) and also preparing for his debut as a director for a film Akki Te Vikki Te Nikki which he has also written.

Suroshree Dasgupta

Suroshree Dasgupta has been a full time radio host with HIT 95FM for the past 4 years. Currently hosting two shows on the station, she started her career as a copywriter then as the voice behind a character based show. Eventually she bagged her own daily matinee show 'HIT Request with Suroshree' which she has been hosting since 2009 and has also been co-hosting 'Delhi's official top 25' since 2010. Also a freelance writer, Suroshree has previously written for newspapers such as 'The Sunday Guardian' and for an online magazine called 'Helter Skelter'(that seeks to promote independent and alternative culture in India) besides blogging about her daily musings. In her free time she emcees live events, lends her voice as a voice over artiste and sings for a Delhi based all girls band.

Tanvi Girotra

Tanvi, a student at Delhi University, is leading an internationally recognized youth organisation - Becoming I Foundation - which brings young people face to face with community development projects. Her organisation works on initiatives in the fields of primary and secondary education, implementation of the Right to Education, life skills development, culture based sex work, women empowerment, and leadership development of the youth. Tanvi recently won the Karamveer Puraskar - a global award for social justice and citizen action. Tanvi seeks to bring about an evolutionary, non disruptive change through youth participation. Through Becoming I, she aims to create a group of passionate young individuals who using the power of 'I' will go ahead and create a dent in the universe.

Rakesh Kochhar

Rakesh is a Business Performance and Executive Coach who shakes you out of your comfort zone by making you confront your fears and mental barriers to achieve positive change and realize your true potential. Rakesh was a typical corporate jockey for the first 23 years of his working life leading blue chip companies. However Rakesh had a defining moment when at the peak of his corporate life he was diagnosed with Cancer and Kidney failure leading to two transplants and a five year fight to recover his health. Rakesh also devotes his time to a NGO - Society For Kidney Support, of which he is the founder president.

Akshar Pathak

Akshar Pathak is a 23 year old creative producer and graphic designer who is a product of NIFT, New Delhi. He loved to draw, paint and sketch as a child which continued onto the adult years. As he grew older, he made a natural leap into Designing as a career. He has worked earlier with “Happily Unmarried” and 'Comic Con India' and is currently working with Zomato as a Brand Manager.

Ankush Rawat, Manvi Sehgal, Nishant Trisal

Sincerely Jugaadu is a group of 3 first year students of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Bangalore . It is an idea conceived from the hardships and problems that any normal person faces and more importantly recovers from. Inside every individual, there is a Jugaadu. Sincerely Jugaadu aims at eliminating the problems the common man faces everyday and coming up with ‘sincere’ and innovative jugaads, tailor made for their needs.

Raghav Mandava

Raghav Mandava is one of the first and few professional English Stand up comedians in Delhi, who has given the city a good dose of social satire. After dropping journalism to become a bartender and comedian, he has performed to sold out shows at Indian Habitat Centre and Epicentre, at Open Mic's around the city, where he strives to try something new every time he takes the stage. He has become a fast growing brand since he founded Cheese Monkey Mafia (CMM), where he is currently the director. Through CMM, he has taken forward the initiative to bring stand up comedy to the NCR. Apart from aspiring comedians, CMM also offers a platform to other talents such as singers and theatre artists.

Suchita Salwan

Suchita is a young entrepreneur, looking and seeking to make a change through Little Black Book, Delhi- an online magazine and an enterprise focused on exploring the known, lesser known and unknown places and people that make the city she calls home, Delhi. She has had the opportunity to work with Wizcraft on the Opening and Closing Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games, and previously worked with the BBC in Marketing & Communications before she decided to quit and pursue her creation. She's inspired by people and their stories, and hopes to give them a platform and a voice through Little Black Book, Delhi.

Adil and Vasundhara

Adil Manuel & Vasundhara Vidalur have been playing together for over 4 years now - as a duo early on but mainly as a quartet ever since. Their musical spectrum spans Jazz Fusion, Funk, RnB, Blues and Gospel. Extensively working with artists based in India and abroad, their focus has been the creation of new sounds and energies through collaboration, exchange and cross-influence. Their summers are generally spent touring and playing at international music festivals like the Féstival Tout Le Monde Chante (TLMC) in Villefranche de Rouergue (France), Festival Corne d’Or in Istanbul (Turkey), Centre Mandapa in Paris (France), Clef d’Or in Plovdiv (Bulgaria) etc. In some of these festivals they have been the first Indian musicians to be invited. With a large bi-lingual repertoire of standards and original compositions, their shows have a mix of songs in French and English. lt is a sound that appeals to a wide range of audiences ranging from college kids to corporate men and women who regularly follow their live shows, buy their LPs and blog about them.
