In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Marcus Plutowski

Marcus Plutowski is a compiler engineer at Apple Inc., focusing on how to best utilize upcoming hardware features. Back in 2017, Marcus founded Vakyrie Robotics, a robotics team and educational nonprofit which serviced hundreds of students, fundraised more than $300,000 and ran until the end of last year.

Meg Gudgeirsson

Meg Eppel Gudgeirsson is a Lecturer of History at Santa Clara University, focusing on race, religion, and childhood in the 19th-century US history. She is interested in the role of “everyday” people - how they experienced and shaped our nation. She is inspired by those who challenge the obstacles they face and seek to better understand them. Her current research looks at the history of the abolitionist community of Berea and ultimately looking to similar patterns of the overlap of education and white supremacy throughout the United States, especially here in the West. Dr. Gudgeirsson has previously taught at the University of California Berkeley as a visiting lecturer and at Cabrillo College.
