Theme: Butterfly Effect

On Saturday 13th of April, the eleventh edition of TEDxUHasselt, an event of international class organised by twelve dedicated students of Hasselt University, will take place. The event will take place at the Diepenbeek campus and the doors will be open from 4pm.

This year's speakers include speakers such as Steven Laureys, an award-winning brain scientist, Sally Trivino, an expert in crisis management and Patrick Pickart, a hypnotist. Besides inspiring speakers, you can also expect impressive musical interludes and a dance act. The evening will end with a reception where you can network with other interested parties.

Best of all, the event is free to the public! Registration is still open until 1 April 2023 at www.tedxuhasselt.be/tickets. The event is the perfect opportunity to network, get new ideas and get yourself inspired by the speakers' stories.

Clara, an actress, humorist, and content creator from Brussels, will join forces with her father, Steven Laureys. Clara sometimes deals with insomnia and stress, which causes her brain to jump all over the place. This is where the importance of meditation comes in. Her father, an award-winning neurologist, will perform a live demonstration of an EEG monitor. This way, we are able to directly see the effects of meditation on the brain.

Tommaso Bordoni

Entrepreneur + Tailor

Former homeless person, mountain climber and 32-year-old tailor from Antwerp, that’s what describes Tommaso the best. He has achieved a remarkable feat by reaching the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. What sets his accomplishment apart is that he completed the entire climb dressed in a three-piece suit, complete with a tie. His talk will be about overcoming hurdles, where he will share his insight on how he achieved his goals in life after being a homeless person.
