In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Amy Xu

Student
Amy is a rising senior from Prospect High School. She is a part of the theater and speech program at her high school and an active member of the community in terms of mental health awareness and linguistics advocacy.

Aniketh Subash

Aniketh is a high school senior at Buffalo Grove High School who plans to major in Aerospace Engineering. He's been working with technology from a very young age, and continues to be involved in discussions regarding our interactions with technology.

Emily Hanson

Emily Hanson is a passionate enthusiast for all things related to science from the smallest of cells to the vast expanse of space yet unexplored. When she’s not planting herbs in her home garden, reading up on radiotrophic fungi for fun, or consuming her third dose of coffee for the day, Emily can always be found appreciating the beauty of science whether visible to the naked eye or not. Emily is a devoted speaker who wishes to share her love of biology and engineering with the world.

Jacqueline Wojtalik

Jacqueline is a junior from John Hersey High School. She is part of the school's law team, chamber, orchestra, and French club. Her favorite TEDTalk is Simon Sinek on how great leaders inspire action.

Logan Gouss

Student
Logan Gouss is a junior at New Trier High School who is passionate about social justice and diplomacy. Logan is actively involved at New Trier, serving as the co-president of Amnesty International Club, a member of the Model UN Executive Board, and contributing significantly to the NT Political Journal with foreign policy articles. This summer, he will immerse himself in Arabic studies through the State Department-funded NSLI-Y program in Morocco. In addition to language studies, Logan’s efforts to bridge divides and raise political awareness are evident through his involvement with Hands of Peace, a program promoting dialogue between Israelis and Palestinians, and concise analyses of global issues in his weekly foreign policy newsletter, the Geopolitical Gambit. Logan’s goal is to contribute meaningfully to the field of international relations, whether in the Foreign Service or as an international human rights attorney, with the aim of making a difference in the world.

Sarah Larson

Sarah Larson is very involved in many different band and orchestra programs, the Buffalo Grove HS speech team, as well as the BG Ted-Ed club! Her favorite Ted Talk is “Creating Space for Poetry, Making Room for Humanity” by Kevin Kantor.
