TEDxKeio High School is a TEDx event that is planned and operated by an organization of student volunteers from different high schools affiliated with the Keio institution. This year’s event, TEDxKeio High School –Catalyst-, is the fifth event to date under the TEDxKeio High School brand. This year’s event concept is “Catalyst” - through our event, we hope to “catalyze” the creation of meaningful connections and new opportunities for those of us on the planning committee, each and every participant, and our wonderful speakers.

TEDxKeio High School は、慶應義塾一貫教育校4校(高等学校、女子高等学校、志木高等学校、湘南藤沢高等部)の生徒有志によって企画・運営されるTEDxイベントです。2024年のイベントである「TEDxKeio High School -Catalyst-」は、5回目の TEDxKeio High School イベントとなります。今年のコンセプトは「Catalyst(きっかけ)」です。本イベントが、実行委員、参加者、そして登壇者にとって、素晴らしい人の縁と新たな機会をもたらす「きっかけ」となることを心から願っています。

Atsushi Fukuyama

Owner of the Kagawa Olive Guyners baseball team
Atsushi Fukuyama graduated from the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies at Keio University in 2011. After joining CyberAgent, he became independent in 2016 and founded LaserBeam Inc. He launched a crowdsourcing service, and he conducted the M&A of Showcase Inc. in 2018, as well as the M&A of sales support company DORIRU (formerly known as GigSales) in 2020. He also became the owner of the Kagawa Olive Guyners baseball team in 2023. He is also a lecturer (business practice/exploration course) at Keio Senior High School and Kamakura Gakuen High School.

Hiroki Kimiwada

Grade 11 year student at Keio Shonan Fujisawa Senior High School
Hiroki Kimiwada is a second-year student at Keio Shonan Fujisawa Senior High School. While studying in the U.S., he placed at top 15 in the U.S. at the Science Olympiad and won the state competition. In Japan, he received a gold medal at the Japan Astronomy Olympiad. He was also appointed as a troop leader of the NJROTC at a local high school. After returning to Japan, he conducted research on lung cancer and is currently building a generative AI model to design proteins at the Sakakibara Laboratory in the Faculty of Science and Technology at Keio University. He is also the representative for an international exchange project based in Southeast Asia.

Junichi Ushiba

Professor at the Department of Biosciences and Informatics, Faculty of Science and Technology, Keio University
Junichi Ushiba received his B.S. in the Department of Applied Physics and Physico-Informatics, Faculty of Science and Technology, Keio University, 2001 and received his doctorate degree in engineering in 2004. Ushiba joined the Department of Biosciences and Informatics, Faculty of Science and Technology at Keio University as an assistant professor in 2004, became a full-time lecturer in 2007, an associate professor in 2012, and a professor in 2022. He is currently conducting research on brain-machine interface (BMI), a technology that measures brain activity to operate robots. In addition to his work as a professor, he also serves as the representative director of LIFESCAPES, Inc.

Junpei Saito

Grade 12 student at Keio Shiki Senior High School
Junpei Saito is a third-year student at Keio Shiki Senior High School. In his first year of junior high school, he began robot development and won a national competition. In his second year of high school, he launched a robot project in the school's electronics research group and led it to the 2022 national competition. He was also selected as a student of the Masayoshi Son Scholarship Foundation. Currently, he has established a robot-making team “燈 -Tomoshibi-" and participates in various presentations and events such as Science Castle, Gikuiku Exhibition, RoboCupJunior, and so on. He is working hard to develop robots on a daily basis.

Katsuo Fukuzawa

Drama Director
Katsuo Fukuzawa graduated from the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Law, Keio University in 1987. As a member of Keio University's Rugby club, he won the 1985 National University Rugby Football Championship and the 1986 Japan Rugby Football Championship. After graduation, he worked for Fujifilm before joining TBS Television in 1989. He has worked on the "Year 3 Class B Kinpachi Sensei" series, "Suna no Utsuwa," "Hanzawa Naoki" series, and "VIVANT," among others.

Nao Egashira

Grade 12 student at Keio Girls Senior High School
Nao Egashira is a third-year student at Keio Girls Senior High School. In 2022, she launched an educational internship for students in the United Arab Emirates. Last summer, in order to make up for the regret of the cancellation of the All-Japan Band Competition in 2020 due to the spread of covid, she launched "Hibike! Harmony of 2020!”. Currently, while serving as the poject’s representative, she is expanding the scope of her activities through numerous ventures such as the launch of a free cram school and activities related to public relations at an online university.

Shouei Yoshida

Grade 12 student at Keio Senior High School
Shouei Yoshida is a third-year student at Keio Senior High School. After participating in an internship throughout his first and second year of high school, he became involved in the launch of numerous private enterprises with the support of the Unson Foundation and other organizations. In August 2023, he founded Emiria Corporation, which aims to implement artificial intelligence and algorithms in society.

Takahiko Moribayashi

Manager of the Keio Senior High School Club, Teacher at Keio Yochisha Elementary School
Takahiko Moribayashi graduated from Keio University in 1996 with a degree in Law. After working for NTT, he decided to become a baseball coach and studied physical education theory at the University of Tsukuba Graduate School. In 2015, while teaching at Keio Yochisha Elementary School, he became the manager of the Keio Senior High School Baseball Club, leading the club to its first championship in 107 years at the 105th National High School Baseball Championship Tournament in 2023.

Yuto Doya

President of CLOUDY
Yuto Doya graduated from Keio University in 2008 with a degree in Economics. After joining Goldman Sachs, he launched Doooooooo, a non-profit organization that provides education, job opportunities, and food assistance in Africa in 2010, and established DOYA Inc. Ltd. in the following year. He has developed an apparel brand, "CLOUDY", which utilizes traditional African fabrics and other local handicrafts and culture. Currently, Doya is involved in NPO activities in addition to his work at CLOUDY.
