Christopher Evans

I've spoken at the International Conference on Thinking (ICOT), the Sarasota Institute's 21st Century Think Tank, and internationally at the Child's Rights in Action (CRIA) conference in France. I have raised almost $50,000, all of which has gone towards the funding of three clean water wells and three concrete houses in villages in Haiti. I am now working toward funding a sustainable chicken farm.

Inayaa Kazi

I am a high school junior with a passion for human rights advocacy, service, and leadership. This past year, I founded North Broward's UNICEF Club which has allowed me to co-host and help organize the first World Children's Day event where I got to educate and spread awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child to over 1,000 students. Over the summer, I interned with the JAAGO Foundation in my home country of Bangladesh where I researched ways to eliminate child marriage and ensure an effective education system for over 4,500 children across the country under the JAAGO Program to advance their goal of youth empowerment and child welfare. In school, I serve as the treasurer for Rho Kappa (National Social Science Honor Society) and am part of the Model UN team and Mock Trial team.

Layla Kalandjian

As the Vice President and long term member of the school’s Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE) Promise Club, I’ve been able to see firsthand the impact feelings of un-safety have had on my fellow students, both in the North Broward community as well as in other schools. My involvement with the student organization on a local, regional, and national level have given me new perspectives on understanding and open-mindedness and has given me the opportunity to mentor kids of all ages, manufacture student workshops, and identify the resources for individuals to seek help for their own experiences with this particular issue.

Lila Drowos

Lila Drowos is the 13-year-old author of the middle grade fantasy novel Carl’s Side. After self-publishing at the age of 12, she has raised $1,000.00 in donations for the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County through book sales. Since then, she’s been encouraging other kids to read and write by sharing her story. Some of her other accomplishments include receiving 3rd place and honorable mention BookFest Awards for her novel in 2023, receiving 18th place in the 2024 Annual Writer’s Digest Poetry Awards, presenting an author visit in the NBPS Lower School, being a winner of the 2021 Young Writers Peculiar Pets Poetry Contest, receiving third place in the January 2021 Drama Notebook Monologue Contest, being featured on CBS Miami News, and attending the 2022 Miami Book Fair on Writer’s Row. Her goal is to inspire other creative minds and reinforce the message that kids can do anything.
