TEDxRutgers has been on a journey since its birth. It has gone from "Connecting the Unconnected" to "Beyond What We Are" to finally this year "Igniting a Global Enlightenment." These progressions represent the development of an idea into action. First, people must be connected in order to share ideas, then once they are connected, they can begin sharing knowledge about things beyond just who and what they are, and once they have begun sharing ideas, it is time to ignite something, to start something, perhaps enlightenment on a global, social, or personal level. All of the talks this year gave different perspectives on how a small action can lead to grand consequences and enlightenment, whether it be remodeling ships to avoid a Titanic disaster, or meditating for fifteen minutes a day to lead to self-knowledge.
