In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Amiee Carlton

Amiee is a parent and ex-pupil at the King Alfred School. Amiee is a certified parenting coach with over a decade of hands-on experience in working with parents to help them find joy and confidence in their parenting and guiding them towards nurturing not only their child’s development but their own personal growth as well.

Chelsea is a part-time PE teacher at the King Alfred School but has another life in property and finance.

Emily is a Year 3 teacher at the King Alfred School. She runs the knit and stitch after school club and writes teen fiction in her spare time.

Eva-May Cooper

Eva-May is in Year 11 at the King Alfred School, studying for her GCSEs. She is passionate about Psychology which she hopes to study at university.

Florence Smith

Florence is new to Sixth Form at the King Alfred School, studying Chemistry, Biology and Geography.

Ido is a parent at the King Alfred School. He is a partner at TLcom Capital, one of Africa’s first and longest tech focused investment funds.

Isabel Lopez Lago

Isabel is a new Sixth Former at the King Alfred School, studying Politics, English and History.

James Fornara

James is a parent at the King Alfred School, first a drama teacher in the state sector and then with many years of experience in alternative education provision. He was the founding principal of Wac Arts College, the first alternative provision free school in England specialising in performing arts and creative media production. He is now founding principal of All City Arts College for 14-19 year olds specialising in art, craft, design, technology, dance, digi arts, drama, film, music and voice.

Keren Mitchell

Keren is a parent of four children. He is the co-founder of SuperKind, the social action platform for schools, which works with tens of thousands of children to educate, inspire and empower the next generation to take action and make a difference to the world around them.

Kevin Tibble

Kevin is a teacher at the King Alfred School where his role has been redefined as Digital Literacy Coordinator for the school.

Lily Rae Davis

Lily Rae is a Sixth Former at the King Alfred School studying English, Drama and Art.

Rebekah Clark

Rebekah is a new parent at the King Alfred School with a daughter in Reception. She is the owner and director of Beautiful Soup, a social impact communications consultancy which focuses on positive storytelling around people and planet. In addition she recently founded Happy Marlo, a children’s emotional wellbeing startup on a mission to ‘empower little humans with big feelings’ through holistic content, resources and experiences

Rosalind Lucas

Rosalind is a Sixth Former at King Alfred School studying History, English Literature and Classical Civilisations. Her passion for Classical Civilisations became clear when, at 4, she had a tantrum in a bookshop upon being told there was no ‘Ancient Greek for Beginners’ available.

Sam Shelemy

Sam is an ex-pupil of the King Alfred School, and now studies Graphic Communication Design at Central Saint Martins. On weekends he works at a Chinese Tea House, and is currently living in the London Buddhist Centre. In his spare time he enjoys painting and writing poetry.

Zoe Derieux

Zoe is a Sixth Former at the King Alfred School, studying Chemistry, Maths and Physics.
