In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Aditya Chandra

I’ll be talking about my experiences with answering the question “why it’s so hard to be environmentally conscious today”. Looking back at my experiences as a student and projects I’ve done with organizations on sustainability for rural workers, I’ve realized that we aren’t in a position to achieved our goals unless we make some social and economic changes. I want to address these and pose my opinion on how these obstacles have been overcome and the mindset shift needed to get there.

Katherine Linton

Kate Linton, a senior at JIS, grew up watching TED Talks and dreaming of one day stepping onto the red dot herself. Now, she’s turning that dream into reality with a talk that unpacks the psychology behind fear based decision-making and regret aversion. Known for her habit of writing meticulous pros and cons lists before making most decisions, Kate blends personal insight with a touch of humor as she explores how we can better handle tough decisions with optimism and confidence.

Kavisha Sehgal

Hi! My name is Kavisha, and I am a junior here at JIS and am so excited to be a speaker at this year’s TEDX@Youth@JIS! When I am not busy with schoolwork, I love to read, watch movies, and listen to my favourite Spotify playlists! As a student navigating the peak of high school, I have noticed some common yet overlooked trends in why students face such large amounts of stress in these critical years of their lives. In my talk, I will be exploring how high school students are usually overwhelmed with the gravity of making decisions - often due to the fear that a simple choice can either make or break their future.
