In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Johannes Benkhoff

Senior Research Scientist at ESA/ESTEC
Johannes Benkhoff is a planetary physicist with the European Space Agency (ESA), focusing on comet and small planetary object studies. His academic path began at the University of Münster, Germany, with subsequent positions at the Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, Texas, and the German Aerospace Centre in Berlin, before relocating to The Netherlands in 2004. Since 2008, Benkhoff has served as the ESA project scientist for BepiColombo, a mission in collaboration with Japan to study Mercury, aiming to deepen our understanding of the Solar System's evolution. Outside his professional endeavors, he is passionate about photography, travel, fitness, and philosophical discussions on topics like the origin of life. Benkhoff is a strong advocate for space exploration, viewing it as essential to comprehend our origins and exhilarating in its own right. Through BepiColombo, he seeks to share the importance and excitement of space science and exploration.

Ramana is a renowned illusionist and magician, celebrated for captivating audiences worldwide with his brand-activating stunts and magic. He gained fame as the first-ever winner of the Dutch TV program "The Next Uri Geller" in 2009 and has since appeared on numerous international TV shows, including in the USA, Spain, and Japan. Ramana has performed at prestigious events for global brands like KLM, American Express, and Facebook, and at various festivals, corporate shows, and clubs around the world. Notably, he's also a TEDx speaker and the author of "Plantkracht," published in 2022. Ramana's work includes traditional Indian magic tours, showcasing his diverse talents and contribution to the magic community.
