In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Barrie Street

Barrie Street is an avidly fit 87-year-old who has completed the Grouse Grind hike 2,500 times, and plans to accomplish his 3,000th by the age of 95. He has extensively volunteered as a teacher and with other humanitarian projects in several countries, including Ethiopia, Zimbabwe and Jamaica. Barrie believes that volunteering is a crucial part of healthy, vibrant aging.

Duncan Robinson

Duncan Robinson has been a triathlete and marathoner for the last 30+ years. Now a senior, he continues to test life’s experiences and embraces cycling as his go to fitness regime, having just surpassed the 14,000km mark for this year. Duncan believes that we all have an insurmountable amount of strength, if we only dig for it.

Yvonne Anderson

Yvonne Anderson is the CEO and Founder of a startup health company. She loves to inspire health prevention practices to help people live active, vibrant lives well into their senior years. Yvonne practices what she preaches. She is a wife, a mom and a senior who enjoys an active, outdoor lifestyle in Vancouver and Whistler, BC.
