Theme: Deconstruct, Reconstruct

This event occurred on
April 3, 2024
Shanghai, Shanghai
China

Le Corbusier revolutionized modern architecture, combining functionalism with bold sculptural expressionism. However, in the era of climate change, a narrow focus on functions does not facilitate coordination across departments nor build urban resilience. Thus, many urban planners deconstruct Le Corbusier’s idea and reconstruct a more holistic solution integrating systems satisfying the needs of contemporary society. However, this is one possible perspective out of myriad lenses to dive into our TEDx event this year under the theme, "Deconstruct, Reconstruct."
As the fifth TEDx event at Shanghai Soong Ching Ling School, you will see students, parents, and guest speakers presenting a variety of topics from psychology to architecture, from family relationships to the chemistry of pollution, and from music to technology. Not only that, but you may also buy intricate souvenirs designed by the team and engage in interactive activities before the event! We hope to see you in April!
