In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Ella Miskovsky Ava Krehbiel

Meet Ella! Ella is a member of the of the Stars Dance Team, .. In her free time, Ella enjoys going to the gym and pursuing her passion for fitness. Ella is an active members of the National Honor Society, showcasing her commitment to academic excellence. While Ella takes her studies seriously, she also knows how to have fun, bringing a perfect blend of dedication and joy to everything she does. Explore with Ella and her co-speaker Ava as they unravel the reasons for “Why We’re Dumb”, a lighthearted presentation about the effects of technology on our education. . Meet Ava! Ava serves as the lieutenant on the FHS Stars Dance Team. Outside of school, Ava is a member of the competitive company at Prodigy Dance and Performing Arts Centre. Ava is also an active member of the National Honor Society. While balancing her studies and dance, Ava has worked tirelessly alongside her co-speaker Ella to explore the reasons for “Why We’re Dumb.”

Ishaan Thakur

Ishaan is a 16-year-old crypto entrepreneur. He is the founder of FLIFER Technologies and the recipient of the Outstanding Entrepreneurship Award alongside Mark Cuban. FLIFER Technologies has been featured on national news such as CNBC. “Embrace the Squirm” by Ishaan Thakur encourages teens to defy common entrepreneurial stereotypes and pursue entrepreneurship regardless of age expectations. We all have our own unique spark, yet most of us are too afraid to take the leap to kickstart our entrepreneurial journey and make billions. Would you really let that squirm hold you back?

Mikaela Ries

Mikaela Ries is a junior at Frisco High School. Although she has moved several times, her most recent move from Louisiana between 9th and 10th grade, she has found a home in Frisco. By connecting with friends and teachers at school to colleagues at her work, she has found a voice for herself. She believes that she can make a difference by sharing this voice and communicating her beliefs with the world.

Shane Coker

Shayne Coker is a teacher at Frisco High School with 33 years in education in coaching in the fields of Business classes, World History, AP World History, Psych/Sociology, Business and Constitutional Law, Football, Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Golf. He graduated in his 18th year at FHS and is a dad with two daughters who are teachers, one son who is going into business, and 3 grandchildren.

Shawn McBrayer

Shawn McBrayer is an AP Computer Science Teacher with a distinguished career in the IT world spanning 25 years. Known for championing enterprise culture within the airline industry, Shawn has directed major projects in various arenas, including NFL stadiums and teams, NCAA sports, NASCAR, and US Olympic Swimming. His strategic thinking, technical expertise, and passion for teaching underscore his impact in technology management and education. Despite it being his first year in the teaching realm, Shawn loves sharing his wealth of knowledge with students, fostering a dynamic learning environment. Beyond his professional pursuits, he finds joy in spending quality time with his wife, dogs, and family, and has a deep appreciation for exploring new destinations through travel.

Hi! My name is Trinity Power. I’m currently a Senior at Frisco High School. This past semester, I concluded an internship with the Collin County District Attorney’s Office and plan on pursuing a degree in Political Science/Government in the future. In my free time, I work as a Research Assistant at Columbia University, the Co-Founder and Director of Policy at SafeR Maps, and enjoy meals at Torchy’s with friends.
