In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Lina Siev

I am currently an international student at the Toyota Institute of Technology, majoring in Architecture. Before moving to Japan, I completed my high school education in Cambodia, my home country. After graduating from high school, I was invited to speak at Genuine Table Cambodia, where I shared tips on preparing for the national examination and self-study strategies to achieve a Grade A. Following this, I was selected to participate in the development of a data analytics proposal for the ASEAN Data Science Explorers 2020. The program aims to strengthen the ASEAN Community by enhancing data science skills and employability. In 2021, I volunteered with Junior Chamber International (JCI), an organization dedicated to improving the safety and quality of care in the international community through education. That same year, I was honored to be chosen as a recipient of the MEXT Scholarship, a four-year program for the college of technology. Regarding my interests and hobbies, I am passionate about planning trips and exploring new places, particularly those of architectural significance. This pursuit brings me joy and enriches my knowledge. I take pleasure in sightseeing, admiring diverse buildings, and delving into their architectural wonders. Beyond traveling, I am also devoted to reading, journaling, and drawing. I am a meticulous planner who likes to prepare well in advance. Although I sometimes worry excessively, this habit ensures that I am always well-prepared. I dedicate time to exploring my curiosities independently, which not only fosters my creativity but also enhances my self-awareness. Annually, I make it a ritual to list my goals, such as securing internships or volunteering opportunities, and I meticulously plan each step of the preparation process to meet all eligibility criteria for participation.
