Theme: Alchemy

TEDx Oakridge Bachupally is back with its newest edition! This TEDx event on alchemy seeks to ignite the audience's imagination and inspire them to unlock creative potential.

Alchemy is described as a mediaeval chemical science and a speculative philosophy, whose aims were to transform base metals into gold and find the means of an indefinitely prolonging life. When comparing it to the philosophy of “living one’s life”, it embodies the idea of taking something mundane or ordinary and through rigorous effort, transforming it into something extraordinary. It depicts human endeavour in pursuit of excellence and self actualisation.

Through this event, TEDx attendees will embark on a journey to uncover the alchemical principles that drive innovation and personal growth. From workshops that help foster creativity and “out-of-the-box” thinking, to delectable food all included in the package, TEDx Oakridge Bachupally hopes to make it a memorable experience.

Aashray Mathai

As the founder of MPowerED and the co-founder of LGBTQIAID, Aashray is a budding entrepreneur. He has been part of the school prefect Council, making him an avid leader. Currently authoring a book, he is also a passionate writer. In his free time, he loves to make yet another interior design idea only to never look back at it again. Garnering the talent and passion to make the world a better place, he is sure to change minds.

Isha Matta

Student

Isha is a DP2 student, currently studying all three sciences and math and aims to one day be a student at a medical school, pursuing her dream of becoming a doctor. When she’s not passionately freaking out over research and deadlines, she’ll probably either be singing her lungs out, writing her own music, or dancing for no apparent reason. She loves to give herself extra work and is always on her toes to do her best in everything she does like the perfectionist she is.

Madhu Shalini

Actor/Model

A “jack of all trades”, she strides across the runway as a talented model and has captured the hearts of the film industry with her elegant acting. She was the winner of Miss Andhra Pradesh 2005 and has hosted the television show Premakathalu after winning the Dream Girl contest. Ms. Shalini made her feature film debut with E.V.V Satyanarayana’s Kithakithalu, released in 2006, and went on to procure a successful career in the film industry with her most recent acting ventures being Pancharaaksharam and Visithiran. When not relentlessly practising her lines or attending yet another promotion, she can be found engaging in her passion for kuchipudi and travelling.

Mukti Bhatia

Student

A 15-year-old with an unending passion for performing arts, particularly music and a hope to pursue vocal performance. From producing harmonies through the night to songwriting about imaginative things on her mind, music has always been a huge part of her life and has allowed her to experience a new way of being. Mukti’s growing interest towards public speaking has brought her to this incredible Tedx platform and encourages her to step out of her comfort zone.

Ray Nathan

Entrepreneur

Ever the entrepreneur, Mr. Nathan embarked on his first venture, iPlanet solutions in 2001, after completing his postgraduate studies in e-commerce from Deakin University, Melbourne. After a successful journey with the start-up, Mr. Nathan has been an avid investor and venture capitalist. In his latest venture, NÜTY, he collaborated with an old friend, fulfilling his passion for making healthy food affordable and accessible. Having resided in a plethora of places ranging from the tropical islands of Singapore to the vibrant and fashionable city of Paris, he has developed an astute understanding of the modern eating habits rampant amongst different cultures and societies. Apart from his entrepreneurial initiatives, Mr.Nathan enjoys daring adventure sports such as mountaineering, biking, and running.

Vimalakar Reddy

Surgical Gastroentrologist

A dedicated gastroenterologist surgeon, who shines as a beacon of success stemming from humble beginnings in rural telangana. With unwavering determination, he rose above adversity to position himself in an established hospital. From a farmhand to a surgical pioneer, his surgical prowess and compassionate patient care have earned him widespread recognition. Driven by a deep sense of purpose, Mr. Vimalakar Reddy continues to transform lives, embodying the remarkable journey from hardship to medical excellence.
