At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Mireille Barsoum

Mireille Barsoum is a Strategic Marketing Professional and the founder of Methodz Consulting. She is currently the Strategic Marketing Consultant at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at NU, Professor of Economics at AUC, and Professor of Marketing, Positive Psychology and Critical Thinking at NU. She is the BBA program director and professor of Marketing, Business Innovation and Strategy at Monarch Business School, Switzerland. She previously held the positions of Marketing & Communications Director at Raseedy for e-payments and Nile University, and Marketing Manager at AMAN for E-Payments and Raya Social Media, Raya Holding. Barsoum is currently a Professional PhD Fellow in Strategic Marketing at Monarch Business School, Switzerland. She holds a Master of Science in Strategic Marketing from the London School of Business & Finance as well as an MBA from the Maastricht School of Management, the Netherlands. She is a certified Marketing Analyst from UC Berkeley, USA, and holds a Certificate in Marketing Strategy from Cornell University, USA.

Mohamed Elhadidy

Dr. Mohamed Elhadidy is currently a professor of Biomedical Sciences, director of Center for Genomics (CG) and Vice Director of Teaching Effectiveness Office (TEO) at Zewail City of science and technology, at Zewail City of science and technology, Egypt. Dr. Elhadidy holds a DVM degree from Mansoura University in Egypt. He obtained his master’s degree in 2006 in Microbiology from Mansoura University and obtained his PhD (2010) in Microbiology from Virginia Tech University, USA. From 2011-2017, Dr. Elhadidy served as a research scientist at School of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, Canada; University of Bristol, UK; and University of Gent and Scientific Institute of Public health in Belgium. In 2018, he also served as a visiting professor at University of Bath, UK. Dr. Elhadidy research program aims to develop a better understanding of the pathogenesis, ecology, evolutional dynamics, and transmission of bacterial foodborne and zoonotic diseases through the implementation of different population genetics and comparative genomic studies of these bacterial pathogens. His most recent research activities implemented high throughput sequencing technologies and genomic epidemiology tools to gain crucial insights into genetic determinants that play a role in virulence potential, antimicrobial resistance and transmission of different zoonotic bacterial pathogens to human including food-borne pathogens. Dr. Elhadidy research on the understanding the biology of foodborne and zoonotic pathogens is interdisciplinary and involves the application of a variety of disciplines (including microbiology and microbial genomics, population genetics, molecular biology, genomics, evolution, nano-drug delivery systems, and bioinformatics) Dr. Elhadidy, a former member of the National Microbiology Council, EYAS, and National Academy of Sciences, aims to develop faculty in the MENA region and Egypt who can teach responsible science using active learning techniques.

Mohamed Farouk

Mohamed Farouk, a multi-talented person, holds a FIFA Diploma in sports management and has excelled as a TV presenter. With a remarkable football career playing for Al Ahly Egypt, he has represented the senior Egypt national football team in 15 appearances. In addition to his sporting achievements, Farouk also serves as a marketing consultant for Huawei, showcasing his expertise in the field. His diverse skill set and passion for sports have enabled him to make a significant impact in various arenas, both on and off the field.

Reham Gadelkarim

Reham Gad is a highly accomplished professional with a diverse background in international business administration and marketing. She holds a Bachelor's degree in International Business Administration with a major in Marketing. With an impressive 16 years of experience in the marketing field, Reham currently serves as a Marketing Director, where she utilizes her expertise to drive successful marketing campaigns and strategies. In addition to her marketing career, Reham Gad is a Certified Diabetes Educator accredited by the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD). She is recognized for her commitment to diabetes education and has made significant contributions in this field. Reham is the founder and lecturer at the diabetes educational program called "Together we move on," where she empowers individuals with diabetes through comprehensive education and support. Reham also serves as a lecturer at the diabetes educational program "Mentor" at "The Bridge Diabetes Academy." Her dedication to diabetes education extends further as she is an insulin pump trainer for the "780G" model, helping individuals manage their diabetes effectively with the latest technology. Reham Gad is an active member of the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD), where she actively engages in professional development and knowledge sharing within the diabetes community. She also contributes her expertise as a lecturer at the Elag Charity Foundation and the Egyptian Health Insurance "Ahmed Oraby," further spreading awareness and education about diabetes.
