Ahlem Bousserwel

Feminist Activist
Ahlem Bousserwel is a Program Coordinator for Men and Women for Gender Equality at UN Women Tunisia, She has worked on masculinities, Gender approach integration in Covid response and on ending violence against women. She started her career as a volunteer in feminist organisations and as a professional in Civil Society in Tunis centre for freedom of the press where she became programs manager on programs related to violence against journalists. Her publications: auto-regulation’s guide for Radio with Gender focus, guide about process of including gender focus in the treatment of media for Radio and Module of training for journalists on gender stereotypes in media.

A photographer based between Paris and Tunis, his work is oriented towards documentary and narrative photography, exploring realms connected to places or life journeys. He primarily collaborates with international press, non-governmental organizations, and artistic and cultural institutions. His practice revolves around personal projects, commissions, and education. He places a special focus on contemporary societal issues related to the Mediterranean. He advocates for long-term photography projects centered around memory, evolving identities, and resilience. His work delves into the question of individual and collective traumas in societies undergoing transformation in times of crisis or post-conflict contexts.

Khalil Elgharbi is a dedicated and results-oriented gaming professional with a proven track record in founding and managing successful esports initiatives. Boasting over six years of experience, Khalil has played a pivotal role in leading various projects and dynamic teams to achieve success in the gaming industry. His expertise encompasses a wide range within the gaming landscape, from hosting radio shows to steering high-performing esports teams. His unique work style combines adept team management, compelling public speaking, and effective communication. Over the past 20 months, Khalil has been at the forefront of an esports team, demonstrating exceptional leadership in managing a team of over 12 young professionals and approximately 70 players.

Leila Ben Gacem, is a trailblazing Tunisian social entrepreneur. She is the visionary founder of Blue Fish, a company established in 2006 with a noble mission: to empower artisans, particularly women, by helping them export their creations and nurturing their businesses. The pinnacle of her achievements came in 2017 when Leila Ben Gacem was honored with the prestigious Fatima al-Fihriya award in Kairouan. Simultaneously, she earned the well-deserved title of Cultural Woman Entrepreneur of the Year, affirming her pivotal role in the cultural tapestry of Tunisia.

Lotfi Hamadi

Founder of Wallah We Can
Lotfi Hamadi was born in Tunisia, in Siliana, a rural region. After a degree at the College of law he studied at the Paris Business School. He later moved to Montreal, Canada where he spent his time between his professional occupation and his involvement in charity action, like volunteering for women victims of sexual abuse and physical violence. He returned to Tunisia in 2011, during the Jasmine Revolution, inspired by the possibilities of supporting the Tunisians during this transitional period. While still managing restaurants, he joined the association “Génération Liberté” (Generation Freedom) and then founded “Wallah We Can!” which supports boarding schools in rural areas.

Maryem Fitouri, an agricultural and agri-food engineer, is a passionate advocate for gender equality and a steadfast climate change activist. Her work as a project coordinator with the Italian NGO ARCS Culture Solidali centers on empowering women and youth in rural communities by championing gender justice, food security, and climate resilience. Maryem is committed to having a positive impact on the overlapping landscapes of gender inequality and the climate crisis.

Mohamed Mouhajir

Mohamed MOUHAJIR is an IADE (Nurse Anesthetist) teacher and doctoral candidate at the Simulation Center of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy in Rabat, Morocco. He specializes in anesthesia-reanimation and medical pedagogy and works at Ibn Sina University Hospital in Rabat. In addition to his hospital role, Mohamed is actively involved in professional organizations. He holds the position of Vice-President of AMIAR (Moroccan Association of Nurse Anesthetists and Intensive Care Nurses) and chairs its scientific committee. He is also a training instructor at CESU SAMU 01, focusing on emergency procedures and care.

Rabaa Mwelhi holds a Master's degree in English Literature and Civilization, as well as an Executive Master's in Management and Cultural Policy. After teaching English for ten years, she has gained extensive experience in a wide variety of teaching methods that prioritize personal development and student growth as the primary goals of education. She was selected by the U.S. Department of State to represent Tunisia in the Fulbright TEA program in 2017 and holds a certificate in adolescent and pre-adolescent teaching from the University of Oregon. Rabaa Mwelhi has also served on the board of the Tunisian American Alumni Network (TAAN). As an amateur musician and singer, she has participated in various concerts with the Ouled Bou Makhlouf group, a socially engaged music ensemble.

Zied Mehdi

Zied Mehdi is a Tunisian composer and Oud player born in July 1991. He has harbored a deep passion for Tunisian music since his childhood. In fact, Zied began studying classical Arabic and Tunisian music at the age of 12. His journey allowed him to refine his preferences and focus more on the intricacies of the Tunisian Oud. Moreover, he was captivated by the authentic and enchanting sound that characterizes this unique instrument. It was a true revelation for him. It's worth noting that Zied is a graduate of the prestigious La Rachidia institution. Furthermore, Zied primarily focuses on interpreting the malouf style and infuses his compositions with a Tunisian essence that carries the scent of the past. He tirelessly works to prepare a teaching method for the Tunisian Oud and establish a pedagogy specific to this instrument. He also provides Tunisian Oud lessons at the Cité des Arts in Paris to introduce Western audiences thirsty for Orientalism to the world of Tunisian music.
