TEDxUofNorthDakota is curated for the University of North Dakota students, alumni, faculty, friends, and the larger Grand Forks community. As the first TEDx event at the University of North Dakota, TEDxUNorthDakota will explore ideas that will characterize leading on all levels. It primarily drives conversations and provides the platform to network with like-minded people and create opportunities for the attendees to enjoy the UND experience, learn about new ideas that will spur their creativity, and provide them with invaluable networking opportunities.

Averie Eixenberger

Podcaster and Founder
Averie Eixenberger is a student at the University of North Dakota pursuing an undergrad with majors in Commercial Aviation and English. Originally from Idaho, Averie graduated from Idaho State University with an Associate of Arts in General Studies. She founded and owns a podcasting business called Rosethorne Productions, which launches its first podcast, Radio Calls, at the end of the year. Through this podcast, she hopes to bring more representation to the aviation industry and cover topics that are often overlooked.

Douglas Munski

Professor, Community Builder, Astute Leader
Dr. Douglas C. Munski only has been on the faculty of UND since January 2. That is January 2, 1978. He now is teaching the grandchildren of the students from his classes in the late 1970s and early 1980s. An alumnus of the University of Illinois (B.S. Ed., 1974; M.A., 1975; Ph.D., 1978), Prof. Munski's interest in leadership is a product of being a part of UND's shared governance that includes being as department chairperson (GEOG & GISc DEPT in 1999-2001 and again in 2020-23), serving as a chairperson of the University Senate (2005-06), having involvement with statewide shared governance in higher education (membership on Council of College Faculties at various times in the past 30 years).

Grace Karikari

Professor, Founder, Publisher
Dr. Grace Karikari [Ka-kari], fondly known as Dr. Gee, is an assistant professor and educator scholar with the Indigenous Health Department, University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences. Dr. Karikari holds a Ph.D. in Public Health with a focus on Health Behavior from Indiana University Bloomington School of Public Health. She is also a certified health education specialist (CHES), a certified health and wellness coach, and a passionate success and holistic wellness advocate. Dr. Karikari is also the founder and co-owner of KENKAN Books and More LLC, an educational publishing company dedicated to producing materials that provide children the opportunity to learn and practice different languages of African countries.

Jeremy Holloway

Professor and Founder, Tellegacy
Jeremy Holloway PhD is an Assistant Professor and Director of Geriatric Education at the University of North Dakota. He is also founder of an intergenerational program, called Tellegacy. The focus of his research is concentrated on social connection, the social determinants of health, specifically self-efficacy, connectedness, and resiliency in work and life. Dr. Holloway developed a curriculum focused on intergenerational programs that include growth mindset, reminiscence therapy, mindfulness, guided imagery, and S.M.A.R.T. goal-setting practices to nourish internal qualities and self-agency of older adults. These best practices for wellness & health promotion address needs related to loneliness and social isolation. Dr. Holloway is also an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially regarding Social Determinants of Health for all peoples.

Matthew Anderson

Author and Founder
A former college athlete and the author of "Running Mate", Matthew M. Anderson loves helping organizations harness the power of relationships. Matt founded Surprise Church in Bismarck, North Dakota. He also founded The Kindness Initiative, a non-profit that empowers elementary students and volunteers to transform schools through kindness. Matt currently lives in Bismarck with his wife and three children.

Ronald Hummons is a childhood trauma activist, award-winning author, film producer, trauma-informed coach, and academic research publisher in the peer-reviewed, International Journal of Science

Ted Mullin

Sports Leader and Realtor
Ted Mullin was born and raised in Littleton, CO. He got to UND in the summer of 2018 to pursue his dreams of getting a college education and playing Division 1 football. Today, he is in his 6th year of college football serving as a 2x team captain. He graduated in May 2022 with a double major in Business Management and Marketing, and a Minor in Professional Sales and currently pursues a Master of Business Administration. On the side, he is a licensed realtor privileged to help people find their dream homes and achieve the real estate goals they set out for themselves and their families. He loves the outdoors, particularly skiing, fishing, camping, and traveling with friends and family.
