Jakkrit (Jon) Sangkhamanee

As an advanced scuba diver, Jakkrit uses underwater fieldwork to examine human positioning in ecological webs.

Her dedication and work have created inspiration and greatly impacted conserving and restoring the environment.

Martin Rendel

Martin started in his early years as a paperboy, chicken slaughterer, and piano teacher somewhere in the German countryside. He then left his home village to study product and graphic design. His global journey began when he won an international design competition. That was 30 years ago. A long career as a designer, cultural manager, and lecturer followed. Today, 40 countries, 18 books, and ten design awards later, he is a university lecturer (Professor Hc cn.) in design and leadership and an Ambassador to Asia, appointed by "Germany - Land of Ideas," an initiative of the Federal Foreign Office. Building bridges between cultures, universities, and institutions is what still drives him. Innovation through intercultural and interdisciplinary collaboration is the core of his work.

She is a pioneer of high-quality LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® in Thailand and uses the method to solve major organizational problems. She has inspired facilitator communities globally and supports the Thailand Institute of Justice’s Rule of Law Fellow and Khon Thai Foundation to create impact for vulnerable and invisible social groups.

พรรณงาม สมณา (ป้าปัง) สมาชิกชุมชน 5 ธันวา วัย 72 ปี นักพัฒนาอิสระ นักสหกรณ์ ผู้ประกอบการ เพื่อสังคม และครูภูมิปัญญาล้านนา ผู้มีบทบาทในการขับเคลื่อนชุมชมและสังคมเมืองเชียงใหม่มากมาย อาทิ การเป็นแกนนำเครือข่ายชุมชนเมืองรักษ์เชียงใหม่ในการรักษาประเพณี วัฒนธรรม และวิถีชีวิตพื้นบ้านล้านนา สืบทอดและถ่ายทอดภูมิปัญญาล้านนา การเป็นแกนนำขับเคลื่อนการยุติความรุนแรงต่อสตรีและเด็กทุกรูปแบบเพื่อความเสมอภาค Panngam (Aunty Pang) Samana, a 72-year-old leader in the 5th December community, is a multifaceted force. She works as an independent development worker, cooperative leader, social entrepreneur, and Lanna wisdom teacher. Beyond her community, she leads the Chiang Mai City Conservation Network, preserving Lanna traditions and advocating for equality, notably against violence towards women and children.

Philip Cornwel-Smith

Writer and Cultural Observer

Philip Cornwel-Smith is a British writer based in Thailand since 1994. A guidebook writer for Time Out in London, he became the founding editor of Bangkok’s first city magazine, Metro. Upon going freelance, he wrote/edited the Time Out Bangkok city guides and other guidebooks and articles for Nikkei, The Guardian, The Economist, and others. His book Very Thai: Everyday Popular Culture has so influenced Thai arts, design, and media that it became an artifact in six exhibitions, while millions saw a show of Very Thai photos outside Central World. Its follow-up, Very Bangkok, re-interprets the city through the senses, subcultures, and multiple perspectives. Philip has co-curated exhibitions at TCDC Chiang Mai and TCDC Bangkok, and Very Bangkok themed the Bangkok Pavilion at the 2021 Countless Cities Biennale in Italy.

Since 2011, she has been creating games to engage Thai citizens on democracy, human rights, and conflict transformation. In 2021, she launched Thailand Talks, a platform for connecting people with different opinions. She also developed Talk to Transform, a game aiming to spark social or conflict transformation through quality dialogue.
