Theme: TEDxFerrara - Possibili Utopie

This event occurred on
September 9, 2023
Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna
Italy

In ancient Greek, Utopia was both ou ("not") and tópos ("place") the "non-place," and eû ("good or good"), tópos, the "good place," and it is precisely this dualism that prompts us to look to the future with curiosity and a desire to make possible what now seems impossible that the fifth edition of TEDxFerrara wants to explore. We believe that utopia is not to be considered only as a chimera but as the "non-place" of all potentials in which we can find tomorrow's solutions.
In this edition we want to imagine and investigate with our speakers a different, alternative reality, a possible utopia, infact, that is built from the world around us. Using today's technologies and all those elements at our disposal we will attempt to design “the non-place” where everything is possible, not forgetting that this journey also passes imperatively through self-awareness.
In fact, as Pierre Rabhi reminds us in "Manifesto for Earth and Man," "The first utopia we must embody ourselves, social transformation will not take place without the change of human beings."
