In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

I grew up in Prince George’s County, MD where I attended Northwestern HS and studied instrumental music in the visual and performing arts program. I decided to major in Communication studies after taking a public speaking course at my former community college. Through my studies here at Towson in the Communication department, I have found a passion for communication and have become well aware of the role it plays in our lives. I hope to apply the knowledge I have gained and conduct research on online communication.
