TEDxModojiRoad is an independently organized TED event operated under license from TED. The theme, Reflection - Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow, was adopted for the value and meaning it will bring to the community considering who we were years back, who we are today and who we will become Tomorrow as individuals and as a community.
As we discus the theme Reflection, we hope to identify where we got it wrong, understand where we are and find ways to spark ideas, start conversations and lead actions that can re-position every individual and community to attain their absolute best.

Abubakar Aliyu

Chairman/Founder, Proxy Group of Companies
Abubakar is a Database Administrator, Business Coach, Entrepreneur, Inventor, Microsoft Technology Expert, Classroom Tutor and Micro-Economist. He holds a first degree in Management Information Systems under Business administration from Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, Egypt in 2013, and a second in Management of Business Information Technology from the University of Greenwich London in 2015. He has over a decade of experience setting up and maintaining information systems, especially for small and medium enterprises. Has worked with Right Access (IT Company), New Cairo in 2012. He worked as a system Debugger with Azzubayr Technologies (a Software Company) in Kano State in 2014. Also, he worked with CellPhone City (a Mobile and Communication Company) in Woolwich, London as a customer service representative in 2015. He is happily married and with a child.

Aisha Marafa Aminu

Founder, WeGirls Development Foundation
Aisha holds a Bachelor of Education degree in Hausa Education from the Umaru Musa Yar'adua University, Katsina. She focuses on the Girl-child education and empowerment which led her to the establishment of the WEGIRLS DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION, a gender based foundation working on peace and reconciliation, gender-based violence, reproductive health care, counter drug abuse, improved mental health and women empowerment in Nigeria. She has worked on various humanitarian projects helping the victims of violence, banditry and insurgency through the provision of health support interventions, education, peace-building, drug abuse and trauma healing and psycho-social supports in the Northwestern part of Nigeria. Aisha is interested in empowering the girl child and ensuring that there is peace across the regions. Hence, she has received grant supports on numerous projects to achieve better outcome for the 2030 Sustainable Development Goal of the United Nations

Jummai Bello

Vice Principal, Government College Katsina
Jummai holds a bachelor of Arts degree in Hausa from the prestigious Al_qalam University Katsina and a Diploma in Hausa at Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic. She has worked with non-governmental organisations like UNICEF and Agile projects as a facilitator/mentor, On G4G, Gender-based Violence (GBV)and research Audiences. Currently. she is the Assistant public relations officer North/west zone under the professional women's council of Nigeria and also works with the Katsina state ministry of Education as Vice Principal Admin, at Government College Katsina.

Muhsin Gambo Lawal

Agroprenuer
Mr. Gambo is a Field Agricultural Officer who is passionate about promoting developmental programs through information and communication technologies. He has 10 years of field practical experience and worked for Interproducts Link Ltd where he served in different capacities as Project Manager, Head of Agricultural Extension and Value Chain, Agronomist and a Business Manager in Kano, Kaduna, Zamfara, Sokoto and Kebbi State. Amongst many excellent records, Mr. Gambo was recommended from CropLife to consult for ADAMA WEST AFRICA LTD in 2021 as Country Manager for Nigeria in business development.

Mustapha Shehu

Project Manager
Project coordinator, monitoring evaluation officer and education planner with 16+ years of development spaces experience in multifaceted environment at all levels of government and in different states of Nigeria. Offers field-level and states-wide experience in information technology solutions, Education Management Information System (EMS) and Teacher Management Information System (TMIS). Two times State Project Coordinator of the UNICEF’s Girls Education Project (GEP) 3 under the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. Currently the State Project Coordinator of Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project, Katsina State.

Yusuf Umar Usman

Yusuf Umar is an exceptional teacher, tutor, mentor, a seasoned project manager and human resource manager. Yusuf is a changemaker and SDGs Advocate, committed to promoting sustainable development and improving the lives of people in his community and beyond. He is the Country Champion of the Planet Peace and a Project Manager at Hausa Hackathon Africa. He is the Convener of Katsina Youths Empowerment Summit, Dutsin-ma Youths Summit, Shoe for a Child and Co-Convener of the Almajiri Child Rights Day. He is the Founder and CEO of Afrah Consulting Services, an innovative firm that provides cutting-edge solutions to clients across various sectors
