In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Anacristina Mejias Cheng

Highschool Student
Anacristina is 18 years old from Costa Rica. She enjoys playing volleyball but shares the same amount of passion for economics and what you would argue as exploring existentialism after a personal life experience that pushed her to question certain things in how society works to shape our mentality. As being part of the new generations she explores how the present world is a lot more competitive and overworking culture is so suppressed on young people. Success requires a higher ladder to climb for them to reach the same results as people in society did even last decade yet young people struggle with the desire to still dream of achieving their goals. Because of this, finding a balance that allows the achievement of goals requires giving things up along the way. This is essential for success in the modern world. She wishes to share her story and message for anyone who has ever felt the pressure to push themselves beyond their limits in the pursuit of success.
