Unlike other TEDx conferences, TEDxDaejeon’s salon event idea comes from the culture that has been passed on from ancient Greece’s ‘Agora’, and ‘Forum’ from the Roman times. It’s an event that lets less amount of people create deeper networking, which makes it a ‘smaller but deeper communication’ event.

Chang-Il Lee

Key principle of Asian philosophy, Five thousand years of history, "The Book of Changes." Fascinated by magnificent depth of the history and mystery, speaker Chang-Il Lee Speaker Chang-Il Lee, he is still retracing the course of "The Book of Changes"'s history. He has been a psychology major student until he learned about special Asian philosophy. However, right after studying one of the swiss psychiatrist and psychologist at the same time, Carl Gustav Jung, he was fascinated with his 40 years of study about "Classics of Changes." He raises his voice that this philosophical idea exists in our daily life. For instance, the Flag of South Korea contains the Taiji symbol, or tàijítú, (yin and yang in dynamic balance, called taegeuk in Korean), representing the origin of all things in universe.The taegeuk is surrounded by four of the eight trigrams, starting from top left and going clockwise: Heaven, Water, Earth, Fire.
