In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Pierre Martinet

Pierre Martinet was first a soldier in the 3rd RPIMa before joining the Action Service. He left the services in September 2001 to work in the private sector, in the “Security” department of the Canal+ channel. His book Service Action: An agent comes out of the shadows, published in spring 2005, caused a scandal. He reveals that the management of Canal+ employed him to spy on Bruno Gaccio, editor-in-chief of the show Les Guignols de l'info. He also reveals the daily life of intelligence agents in France, and breaks the myth of the spy James Bond. In 2006 he published a second book: From Shadow to Light. He is also an editor, notably of the controversial journalist Jean-Paul Ney. He has since worked in the field of private security and is a consultant. He thus participated, with the company Corpguard, in the training of units of the Ivorian army in the mid-1990s.
