ARFAN Sabran

Documentary filmmaker
InDocs graduate Arfan is a respected Indonesian documentary filmmaker. His 2006 Eagle Award-winning documentary "Suster Apung". Arfan's films feature powerful, unique, and colorful characters that audiences connect with. "The Flame," Arfan's first feature documentary, premiered at Switzerland's Visions du Réel Film Festival 2021, South Korea's DMZ International Documentary Film Festival 2021, and Singapore's SGIFF 2021."Rabiah and Mimi," his previous short documentary, won the Colors of Asia, Tokyo Docs Film Festival 2019 pitching forum, received an international co-production with TBS Sparkle Tokyo, and premiered on NHK Japan."The Last Defenders," a Channel News Asia (CNA) documentary series, was directed by him. Arfan is working on his second feature documentary, "Ininnawa - an island calling," which won best feature documentary at Festival Film Indonesia (FFI) 2022 and Excellence Post Production Pitch at DMZ Industry 2022 in South Korea.

BIONDI Sima

Founder of Palu Produktif, Digital Government Consultant
Biondi’s passion is to espouse digital, development, diplomacy, and to leverage them to narrow inequality and empower youth. He consults some households names on digital transformation and green transition, such as the World Bank, UNDP, EY, and Public Digital UK. Biondi also lectures international relations at Hasanuddin University and was a former Head of Implementation at Jabar Digital Service where he rolled out Digital Village and pioneered digital system from COVID-19 pandemic management for West Java. He holds double master’s in economic policy and sustainable development with minors in diplomacy from SciencesPo Paris and Peking University with a joint course with Stanford University. In 2022, Biondi chaired Digital Transformation track in the G20 Youth Summit (Y20) and was the 3rd Runner-up and The Most Inspiring Movement award winner from The New L-Men of the Year.

FIRZAN Nainu

Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Hasanuddin University
Firzan Nainu is a professor in the Pharmacology and Toxicology Laboratory, Faculty of Pharmacy, Hasanuddin University, Indonesia. Following his bachelor's and pharmacist graduation from the Department of Pharmacy, Hasanuddin University in 2005 and 2006, respectively, he went to Australia to complete his master of biomedical sciences at James Cook University (2010-2012). Four years later, he obtained his doctoral degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Kanazawa University, Japan (2012-2016). He is involved in research dealing with host defense and responses against a diverse array of pathogens by using the fruit fly (Drosophila melanogaster) as a model organism. In addition, he is interested in the establishment of various in vivo model systems for drug discovery and drug repurposing. In the long run, he is aiming to establish various in vivo model systems important in the elucidation of important biological mechanisms and the discovery of new entities with medicinal properties.

JAMALUDDIN Jompa

Professor in the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries at Hasanuddin University
Jamaluddin Jompa, professor and senior researcher at Hasanuddin University, is renowned for his contributions to the field of marine and fisheries science. Having obtained his doctorate from James Cook University, Australia, his extensive publication record is highly regarded by researchers worldwide. Alongside his academic pursuits, Jamaluddin has held key positions including chairman of the scientific advisory group for the Coral Triangle Initiative (CTI) National Coordinating Committee (2008-2010), secretary general of the Indonesian Coral Reef Community (since 2012), and President of the International Association of Diving Schools (since 2011). He also served as an advisor to the Indonesian Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries in 2020. As President of the Indonesian Academy of Young Sciences (since 2016), he actively supports the growth of young scholars. Jamaluddin's exceptional achievements have led to his appointment as Rector of Hasanuddin University (2022-2026).

Muhammad HENDRA Himawan

Lecturer at FSRD ISI Surakarta - History of Art, Art Management and Curatorial Practises
Hendra Himawan works independently as a curator, art researcher, and author. He works with emerging artists to create alternative spaces for their project-based artworks. He investigates how the arts can directly contribute to social change by interacting with artists, academics, activists, and villagers. He has represented Indonesia in relational aesthetics and participatory work in community-based art projects. In addition, Hendra curates exhibitions in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. His most recent projects include curating the 2019 Indonesian Disability Art Exhibition and the 2019 Yogyakarta Cultural Festival. He also worked as a writer for the 2017 Jogja Biennale and curated the Parallel Event for the 2015 Jogja Biennale, emphasizing community and participatory art projects. Hendra lives in Yogyakarta and teaches at the Indonesian Arts Institute's Faculty of Fine Arts in Surakarta.

NURHAYA Nurdin

Lecturer in Nursing Department, Hasanuddin University
Nurhaya Nurdin, a nursing lecturer at Hasanuddin University, has been involved in nursing education since 2008. Holding a Master's degree in Nursing from the University of Technology Sydney and a Master's degree in Public Health from the University of Sheffield, she is also an entrepreneur and the founder of the Indonesian Epilepsy Community. With 14,000 members across Indonesia, this community aims to raise awareness, provide education, and challenge the stigma surrounding epilepsy, led by Nurhaya who is herself a person with epilepsy. Nurhaya's passion lies in health literacy, recognizing that healthcare providers often lack awareness of their patients' and families' health literacy levels, leading to ineffective communication. Simplifying complex health information and adopting culturally sensitive approaches are essential for effective public health messaging.
