The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Major Priya Jhingan

First Female cadet in Indian Army

Maj.Priya Jhingan, an Indian Army officer, was the first woman to join the army in 1993. She graduated as a silver medalist from the inaugural women's course. After a decade as a Judge Advocate General officer, she advocated for equal roles for women in the army. Her efforts led to the Supreme Court's 2020 ruling for women to command units. Post-retirement, she taught, edited, and even participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 1. She scaled Mount Kilimanjaro with students, received recognition from the President, and lives with her family in Chandigarh.
