In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Amitava Bhattacharya, based in Kolkata, an engineering graduate from IIT Kharagpur and a Chevening–Gurukul Scholar from London School of Economics, is a social entrepreneur with 34 years of global experience [including 10 years of software experience (1989-99)], has formed banglanatak dot com in 2000 and now recognised globally for their innovations in fostering equitable development using culture as a global public good. banglanatak’s flagship initiative Art for Life (AFL) is a culture based development model focusing on holistic development. Mir *

Artist, performer, vocalist

Since his teenage, Mir, chose to brand his identity so differently from the well known & somewhat predictable style of Radio Jockeying at the time, that he rapidly became a style icon. Till last year with over 25,000 hours (spanning 28 years) of Radio programming experience, Mir was one of the most popular FM Radio Jockeys in India. His nationwide radio campaigns for 98.3 Mirchi have not just won hearts all over India but also grabbed a number of prestigious advertising awards for the brand including Excellence in Radio Awards, The Golden Mike & The New York Radio Festival Awards. Meanwhile, Mir continued to act as an impresario for corporate shows & events within & outside Bengal. Performing with Bollywood & Tollywood artists has been an integral part of his profession, over the years. With close to 4000 stage events compered till date, he is Kolkata’s true blue trilingual host who can entertain in many forms. Mir is also the lead vocalist of a band called Bandage.
