x = independently organized TED event

Theme: The Power of Sharing

This event occurred on
October 28, 2023
Sassuolo, Emilia-Romagna
Italy

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Caroline Caporossi

Founder AIW
In 1902, my great-grandmother left her small village in Calabria to move to New York in pursuit of a dream. Like thousands of other families, my own arrived in America with empty hands, except for their memories, skills, and culture; they opened restaurants and made themselves known through food. The Association for the Integration of Women is dedicated to providing newcomers to Modena, and many other cities, the same opportunity. The migrant women of Modena have a story to tell. We hope to open our doors and create a space where these stories can be narrated, to discover, to grow, to bear witness to how new members of the Modenese community can take root and flourish.
