This event occurred on

Setagaya-ku, Tôkyô

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Greg Dale

Greg is the parent of an 11th grader and is also a professional actor/director. A shy teenager, he turned to acting to gain confidence, but an incident in his early twenties shocked him. Even though he never got nervous while playing a role, when he had to give a speech as himself, his knees wouldn’t stop shaking. Over the next few decades he used acting techniques and experience to slowly overcome this problem, and now he teaches this method of getting rid of nerves and being confident to Middle and High Schoolers, as well as coaching the top executives of Japan’s largest conglomerates. His TEDx talk will explain how to use some of these methods, and show how we all can be limitless.

Jeongmyung Hyun

Jeongmyung Hyun is a 7th grade student at Seisen International School who moved to Japan from South Korea. She enjoys drawing character illustrations like most other students her age. She has loved drawing since she was young and dreams of becoming an illustrator as a side job in the future. By posting her illustrations online, she gradually came to realize the positive influences of online activities on herself. She hopes to share with others this positivity and the interesting experiences she received during her online life.

Mika Kato

Mika, a 17-year-old student, is passionate about learning about the scientific phenomena of her surroundings. Through her TEDx talk, she hopes to evoke appreciation towards these foundational components that make up everything we use in our day-to-day lives.

Pankaj Arjunwadkar

Pankaj is also a parent of a 10th grader and has been an active public speaker for more than 30 years.

Sieun Lee

Learning to overcome personal limits can be a daunting task, especially when those limits are rooted in our own lack of confidence. But it's important to remember that we all have the power to push ourselves beyond what we thought was possible. Meet Sieun, an unremarkable fifteen-year-old student motivated by a desire to push her personal boundaries and achieve her full potential. After not taking risks in the past, Sieun is now determined to push herself beyond the limits that she made for herself and seize any opportunity that comes her way. Through her TedTalk Sieun hopes to serve as an inspiration that it's never too late to pursue our dreams and strive for greatness.

Tenie B. Sangma

Don’t be deceived by the name, children’s books are NOT just for children! Picture books hold and teach various life lessons, not limited to those under the age of 6. Tenie has found it to be a huge influence in her own life, continuing to shape her as a woman, mother, entrepreneur, and educator. She runs her company to enrich the lives of children through speech and drama, helping them develop a love for creative expression. With the help of adorable and endearing storytime characters, she hopes to remind the audience to find joy and inspire them to become limitless.
